This review is from: Blessed Deviant (Audio CD)
Blessed Deviant should have been some slick eighties film about goth punk vamps and their zombie boyfriends. Killing Miranda seems to owe a lot to the eigities. The first new wave explosion. The first goth explosion. Not to mention the first vampire lovers associated explosion.

The synth catches you immediately. half melodic and have cannon in d rythmatic. At times a electronic harsichord sounding device.

Guitairs a gutter punk explosion. Well, gutter punk with eighties metal type shinyness.

Drums a good synthetic mix of balls to the walls or dance beats.

Now to the meat of the matter. The words...Richard knows how to write. That's basically the end of it. Ok a sample from the King Crop of the CD Blessed Deviant

"Liasons in the mortuary are away from prying eyes I am forever yours my sweet Romance this rotting meat

Is this siffness rigor mortis? You'll be with me soon smell of formaldehyde and erfume Well i feel the earth move"

And Richard's voice is an added element. Lingering on words, rushing through words, emphasizing the words, all with the rich superstar voice associated with class. "Ballad of Torres Street" could haveeasily been a Cure song.

Music styles switch from agression rock "H8tred", whites zombie twisted word play "Send in the Clowns" and a eight minute instrumental piece that will leave you wondering why they couldn't add a minute or two.

Of special interest is "Kelly Told Me". It isn't an issue song because it's not cheese. Basically put it's the tellilng of a seven year girl being sexually abused. And protaganist's reacion into disgust. There's actually another element i'm keeping hush hush. Suffice to say it sounds real.

Buy this album. Take it to your favorite goth/darkwave/punk/rock/devial enterprises Inc. club and have it played. Your DJ will thank you.
