Book Description

March 1, 2002
Twenty-one luminous original photographs illustrate visions of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Nuestra Se¤ora de Guadalupe is a mystical beacon for spiritual seekers, a cultural emblem, a Catholic icon. Her message of hope has touched millions; she brings smiles where there were tears, joy where there was grief, and health where there was suffering and disease.

A despondent old man, a beautiful but selfish young woman, a sad and sickly boy: in Blessings of Guadalupe, each receives a visit from La Virgen, and each is given a life-altering vision of divine love.

The inspirational text of Blessings of Guadalupe is accompanied by Eryk Hanut's radiant photographs of retablos and other folk art images from the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico City.

This review is from: Blessings of Guadalupe (Hardcover)
This is the perfect companion for "The road to Guadalupe" by Eryk Hanut; With great panache and sensitivity, the author paints the life and ordeals of the inhabitants of a small Mexican village at the turn of the century- And it's illustrated with his own gorgeous photographs!! A very comforting book- like a fairy tale- quick read and forever in one's heart-

I just received this lovely book - along with the other "Road to Guadalupe", also by Eryk Hanut. What a refreshing, inspiring tale of faith and wisdom; the pictures are beautiful and make this book a small reliquary to be treasured.
