As is her style, Sylvia has, once again, given us an easy to read, easy to understand witty, simplistic look at life presented in her typical matter-of-fact/take-it-or-leave-it approach. This read pertains to life, our families, getting through the holidays and, particularly, getting through life with our families during the holidays!

If you are in need of inspiration and encouragement for the holidays, whether you have suffered the loss of a loved one or simply suffer due to family relationships that perpetually give you heartburn, this book is a 'must read.' However, if you have the time and have not read them, I would highly recommend first winding your way through two of Sylvia's prior books -- specifically, "Adventures of a Psychic, The Other Side and Back," as well as "Life on The Other Side." There are numerous references in this current book to topics addressed in these two prior publications. To avoid replication, she does not go into great detail, but merely refers the reader to these books with the assumption that they have been read. I found this a little frustrating because I needed to refresh my memory, but I also appreciated that she presented fresh material in the new book and did not bog it down with topics she had already covered.

The book is 190 pages long. It addresses subjects, such as grief, life's purpose, forgiveness, guilt, relationships, and joy. As is the case with all of Sylvia's books, I could not put it down once I had started and finished reading it in a little over 24 hours from the time it arrived on my doorstep. It also gave me the desire to go back and re-read the two books I referenced. If you already have the books, keep them close by to refresh your memory. If you don't have the other two books, I would highly recommend you place an order for all three. You won't regret it, and you will have them all read in under a week. You cannot put them down once you get started.

This life leaves us with so many unanswered questions and our heads filled with much fear and anxiety of the future. Cruelly we're unable to receive a definite answer to those questions except, "It will all be understood when you get to the last page". Well, I've got news for you, some of us need to have a better understanding of that first answer to our questions and I believe Ms. Browne to have a very good answer for us. Of the many religions of the world, most share one commonality of an afterlife. Some have varying degrees of what the afterlife is like but none can give us a clear answer. The question will never be answered completely, not by Sylvia, not by Mohammed and not by Jesus of Nazareth.

Yet, it's apparent that Sylvia has a pretty good grasp on the subject. Her words gave me great understanding and comfort in loosing cherished loved ones and in understanding this Vita Loca of mine. Who knew, that there is a great "Hall of Records" where my life is written down, and amazingly pre-planed by my Higher Power and myself. It makes perfect sense to me and as a practicing Ecumenical Christian agrees with much of my own personal theology.

No matter what the flavor of beliefs you have and your spirituality, I think Sylvia has something for everyone. Take what you need, and leave the rest...and if you need all of it know that she will generously give it to all to you and ask for nothing in return but your time and attention.

Dealing with life's problems can be a daunting task, and this book tackles how to deal with those problems in a spiritual manner. Blessings from the Other Side not only gives readers a view of life on the Other Side, and our purpose for living in this plane of existence, but gives solid tips on how to deal with grief, loneliness, holidays and forgiveness with a solid spiritual foundation as well as prayers and meditations to help along the way.

I would highly suggest this book for anyone who is facing life's challenges and is feeling overwhelmed, as well as those who want to help someone in the midst of chaos.

ive read the majority of sylvia browne's books and am always quick to snatch up new releases. i noticed they become repetitive even after reading only two or three. since i am a huge fan, this doesnt bother me. (well, maybe it does a little...)
Blessings from The Other Side is far from her first publication and it does mimic a couple of her previous books, but its so uplifting and inspirational, those few tiny drawbacks fall by the wayside. if you are someone who is interested but a little annoyed by the repetition, this is a book for you. especially if you've lost a loved one, like i have. it offers comfort and wisdon, just as promised.

I have given this book to several friends who have lost love ones and it has ALWAYS given people comfort. It is my favorite book that Sylvia has written.

For those who have lost a loved one recently and who need some hope and inspiration from a psychic, this is the book for you. Sylvia gives you the answers to everything - guilt, joy, life death, and surviving the holidays with loved ones, among others. The book is short and simple - an easy read. The only shortcoming might be her frequent references to other books of hers, but this avoids repetition in case you'e already read them. Once you get hooked on this books message, you won't be able to put it down.

Mr. Davis, if you dont believe in Sylvia, then dont purchase or read her books. In addition, please do not insult those who believe in her and have actually seen her in person. You cannot judge someone if you do not actually know them.

I currently own all of Sylvia's books, and I must say this is one of the best! It clearly deals with all the common areas in life that we all face. Its very simple and easy to read and understand. I recommend this book to everyone who respects and likes Sylvia Browne.

Another insightful book by by favorite psychic!
There is a lot to be learned here, forgiving, letting go, understanding why we are the way we are (does that make sense? anyway...)
This book is comforting, positive, and spiritually healing.

For those suffering the loss of a loved one, this book brings great comfort, makes sense and answers questions we all have about the death experience and afterlife. This was the first SB book I read and bought 5 more. Highly recommended!
