A great starter for the London-bound traveler.,
By Terence C Brennan "Tough marker" (Maryland, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Blimey! Another Book About London. (Paperback)
Five stars is a lot, but this book deserves them. I bought it in the late 1970s before my first real trip to London. It introduced me to the City (if you don't know what that means, you REALLY need this book), and the great architecture of Westminster.
Goddard is hopelessly, delightfully opinionated about architecture (and a lot of other things), and this really really is a starter. A shame that it is out of print, but used copies are still available. For the more advanced student, try "Nairn's London".

This is an older but wiser book about one of the great cities of the world. If you love London, you could do a whole lot worse than getting this tome!
