5.0 out of 5 stars BLIND, BUT NOT MUTE
What an unusual book! BLIND DATE is the first book of poetry I have come across that addresses a man's transition into parenthood. these "poems" are presented as poetry, but in reality the author is prosaic about his feelings about a child coming along. the work is very ego-centric, not very poetic, mostly trvial word jingles.

What an unusual book! BLIND DATE is the first book of poetry I have come across that addresses a man's transition into parenthood. I found it by turns poignant, painful, moving, terrifying, and touching. The concept of traversing the territory of expectant fatherhood through poetry is a challenging one, but the author pulls it off. By the end, I was hoping that maybe a forthcoming volume would be a poetic journal of the first year of fatherhood! If not, take a look, anyway--if there's any doubt that not only women, but men as well, experience a profound shift in their identity when they become parents, this brave, elegant, and thoughtful volume of poetry will quickly put that myth to rest.
