And still one of the best date movies around.

A boyish Bruce Willis coming off his emergence in "Moonlighting" fights off insanely obsessed
ex-boyfriend John Laroquette while dealing with stunning Kim Basssinger's "alcohol allergy" with
hysterical results. The business meeting with the Japanese patron is classic Blake Edwards. I
found myself laughing out loud throughout this kooky farce. Very funny.

The DVD has both widescreen and standard, the transfer is pretty good, but the 2 channel dolby
is semi-hollow. Who cares, this movie is just pure fun! 5 Magnums

I remembered this movie from it's original release. My daughter watched it years later and truly loved it. We showed it to my wife and son-in-law and were taken back to its original freshness because of their reaction. My wife and I showed to our best friends and got the same reaction. I think it is impossible not to laugh at this film. Bruce Willis is a natural comedic talent, proven by Moonlighting. No matter how many times I watch this movie I always enjoy it.

I would reccomend this movie to anyone regardless of age who want to watch a real comedy. There is no thinking required, just entertainment. If you do start thinking it only gets funnier....and funnier.

The whole cast does a great job and use their natural talents. There is not a weak link in the cast. A great comedy film that is really under rated. Why are movies like this always overlooked by critics and awards?

You don't get comedies like this anymore, the late Blake Edwards really could makes his films unique, this one is no exceptions, this one definately screams 80's, but it is still fun to watch, this one came out at a time when Bruce Willis was enjoying his success on "Moonlighting" & one year before "Die Hard" made him a movie star, in this he is Walter Davis who needs a date for his company's business meeting, his brother Ted(the late Phil Hartman) sets him up with Kim Basinger's Nadia, but warns not to let her drink, Walter of course ignores this warning & everything that can go wrong does, starting with a comapny dinner being totally ruined & Walter being fired, to John Larroqette as Nadia's psychotic ex-boyfriend David, who is just off the wall crazy & a hoot to watch, to a brawl in a nightclub, the Walter's car being stripped in a bad neighborhood to his & David's fight at a party, the ending sees David blackmailing Nadia into marrying him at his father's estate to William Daniels as David's father who doesn't even like him, to Walter being chased by a doberman named Rambo at the estate as he tries to rescue Nadia which results in more slapstick humor, Willis & Larroquette have sinced put their comedy days behind them, but this one will remind you how funny they once were.

It has been awhile since I have seen this movie. The first time was in the theatre when it came out with my family. Since then I had seen it at Blockbuster and picked it up for the heck of it. I forgot how funny this movie was. And the most overlooked performance has to be by the late Phil Hartman (Ted Davis). What a comic he was! He had joined SNL in 1986 so I'm guessing this was one of his first movies after joining the show. Bruce Willis (Walter Davis) & Kim Basinger (Nadia Gates) do an equally good job of acting like a couple who are smitten with each other (when they aren't drunk, that is.) Adding to the laughs is Stephanie Faracy (The Great Outdoors) as Susie Davis, Walter's sister-in-law, John Larroquette (of Night Court) as Nadia's ex-crazed boyfriend David Bedford, and William Daniels (Boy Meets World) as Judge Harold Bedford, David's father. This is a great movie for a Friday night. It was just as much fun pointing out the cameos from Billy Vera & Stanley Jordan. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

This is one 80's movie! Which is fine considering that particular decade gave us so much nostalgia. I just feel weird giving Blind Dare 4 stars because, even though it's great, it does contain a highly distressing 'disco' scene that will make you cringe.
Walter Davis (Bruce Willis in his first movie) is a stressed workaholic who must bring a date to a business dinner to impress a Japanese client. In desperation his brings his sister-in-laws cousin Nadia (a brunette, and prettier Kim Basinger) who is very cute, but has a drink problem. Despite warnings not to get her drunk, Walter buys her champagne and, like some sort of human mogwai, she transforms into a crazed party animal. Things go very bad for Walter as Nadia proceeds to wreck his life. Not only that, but her totally mad ex-boyfriend David (John Larroquette) is stalking them at every turn. William Daniels (the voice of KITT from Knight Boat) even has a funny role as a disgruntled judge and the late (great) Phil Hartman plays Walter's brother.
Filmmaking legend Blake Edwards (The Pink Panther, Breakfast at Tiffany's) is the man behind the camera. He brings a lot of class and experience to what could have been a generic romantic comedy. His widescreen compositions and long, moving camera takes add a touch of sophistication, it's a shame it just had to end up being so 80's.
There are loads of hilarious moments and I suggest you pick it up whenever you see it. Just use 80's block factor 1000.
The DVD is in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with average Dolby 2.0 sound. A trailer is included.
