Great Resource for friends and relatives of the blind.,
By A Customer
This review is from: What Blind People Wish Sighted People Knew About Blindness (Paperback)
When my mother went blind, I had no idea of what to do to help her adjust, or what it was like for her to be blind. What Blind People Wish Sighted People Knew About Blindness told me everything I needed to know to make my mother's transition into blindness easier. It also helped me know what to do when around a blind person to be helpful without being in the way.I would recommend this book to anyone with a blind friend or relative.

I really like the user-friendly, straightforward tone in this book. The writer's style makes learning about blindness easier than more technical books. I picked up this book because a character in one of my stories is blind and I wanted to do some research, and this book has been extremely helpful. I would recommend this to anyone who is transitioning to blindness, knows someone transitioning to blindness, or just wants to learn more about what it's like to be blind.
Lastly, the book that was sent to me had been signed, "To Ellie, 'Treasure every sight everyday!'" by Harry Martin. If this book was not supposed to be sent out, I'm perfectly happy to exchange it for one that hasn't been signed. Otherwise, my best regards to Ellie. Thank you.

This was a fairly decent book. Most of the stuff in the book I already knew just from talking with my boyfriend who is blind, but if you're fairly new to the whole thing it's helpful. I actually read it to him and used it as a starting point for conversation. It couldn't hurt. It was definitely worth your time. He agreed with many of the things in the book.
