Who Could Be So Blind??, February 11, 2007
This review is from: "Blind Temptations" the Seduction of Sex, Lies & Betrayal (Paperback)
Lesley Hal opens up with three friends attending a very formal, high society function. You are engulfed with how the main characters, Chante, Michelle and Karissa each look like or have components of someone famous..."Halle Berry's little sister," "curves like Beyonce" and "legs like Tina Turner." To say the least, you will have these same comments throughout the entire read with other various characters.
Chante could be Halle Berry's little sister. She has the perfect life with the perfect husband, the perfect job and the perfect triplet girls. Always the one to comment to her two best friends that they too could have the life she has, Chante soon finds out all that glitters is not gold.
Michelle loves the fact that her man, Brandon, is finally back home. Yes, they have been through some problems, but who hasn't? Trying to hide the fact that he treats her like crap and physically abuses her on a constant basis, Michelle can only hide the truth for so long.
Karissa has finally met the love of her life. Andre is every woman's dream. He's rich, handsome and single. As Karissa and Andre make plans to marry, Karissa must learn to let go of the hurt and loneliness that has plagued her her entire life.
Alex knows that he couldn't ask for a better wife in Chante. His law business is booming and his little girls are healthy. Alex cannot help that he is tempting by the likes of Paris, the estranged woman who he almost killed. Will Alex's lust blind him and cost him what he has worked so hard to achieve and also test his manhood?
After reading the first few chapters, you pretty much know the jest of the story. What I didn't know was that the editing would be so bad. The [...] along with the excessive use of what industry person the characters resemble make the read even longer than the 449 pages it is.

A Book That Will Hook Ya!, March 29, 2009
This review is from: "Blind Temptations" the Seduction of Sex, Lies & Betrayal (Paperback)
This is one of those huge books that I looked at and wondered if the story is interesting enough for me to get through all those pages.
I am glad to say I was done within a couple of days...picking it up every chance I got!
"Blind Temptations" is an awesome novel that follows the relationships of three best friends Chante, Karissa and Michelle.
Chante's perfect world is turned upside down by her disloyal husband who teaches her that she is not immune to a VERY scandalous drama.
Karissa has been disowned by her family but now even as a grown woman can't seem to get past it; putting her up-coming marriage at risk...
Michelle thinks being a punching bag is a form of love!!! Even though her friends try to guide her away she still falls back into Satan's hands!!
There was an excellent sub-plot involving the neighbors Tamia and Alan that heightened the suspense and just brought the whole drama to a whole nother level!!!!
Author Leslie Hal has built a very scandalous drama that draws the reader in and keeps them there till the very end. Ms Hal planted the seeds of her characters and took the time to cultivate their personalities while the drama escalated around them.
Providing Ms. Hal tightens up the editing "Blind Temptations 2" should be a five star read.

(RAW Rating: 4.5) - Life Lessons, May 1, 2007
This review is from: "Blind Temptations" the Seduction of Sex, Lies & Betrayal (Paperback)
In BLIND TEMPTATIONS, Chante Michaels, Michelle Ramsey and Karissa Waters are friends who seem to have been through it all, but at the same time, do not completely confide in each other when the going gets tough. All have successful careers and seem to be on the ball; however, things are not always as they appear to be behind closed doors.
Michelle has a really sweet personality, always trying to please others while compromising herself. She perpetually makes the wrong choice regarding her deadbeat, abusive boyfriend Brandon. They say "love is blind," but dang, in Michelle's case, love must be blind and stupid! When it comes to Brandon, his lies, his torturous ways and imposing demeanor, you think the choice would be easy. Will Michelle be able to recognize and accept true love or will it be too late? Will she turn to her friends in her time of need or will she continue to put on the brave, happy face?
Karissa is also struggling with her own dark side. Having been shunned by her family at a very early age and cast away like a piece of used tissue, Karissa struggles with her own self-acceptance while at the same time she yearns to renew her severed family bonds. When she innocently meets Andre Williamson, a true prince charming, you would think Karissa would finally accept the happiness she has longed for her whole life or can she? Will Karissa's painful childhood prevent her from truly accepting Andre's genuine love for her?
Chante seems to have the perfect life - her husband Alex is seemingly the model husband who has a successful career as an attorney. Their triplet daughters are wonderful children and Chante is nothing to sneeze at, with breathtaking good looks and a career as a successful bank executive, things just seem, well, perfect in her life. Karissa and Michelle often felt Chante's world is too goody-goody and wondering if it would ever come crashing down around her feet. When scandal brews involving Alex, the very core of Chante's world is rattled. Will she be able to hold things together for the sake of her family? Only time will tell!
With BLIND TEMPTATIONS, Lesley E. Hal creates a sizzling novel that will pull you through its 460 pages. This is one of the longer novels I've read in awhile and it held my interest from start to finish. The details are juicy, the storyline is engaging and the drama is scandalous. The book contains a few minor grammatical and editing issues that could be improved upon; however, this does not detract from the overall essence of the book. At times, it seems obvious where the story is heading and you may wonder how the characters could be so blind. However, when we're caught up in a situation, things are not as black and white from the inside. Overall, the book was well-written and Hal incorporated a cliff hanger which leads me to believe a sequel is in the works!
