Classic semi-progressive tune,

This is a great version of a classic, semi-progressive tune. Now that I have children I wish the lyrics were less "garbled" but that didn't bother me in the 70s. The lyrical faux pas probably prevents it from being a perennial classic but it's still an intersting song.
Blinded by the Light was the first song on Bruce Springsteen's 1973 album Greetings from Asbury Park. The Manfred Mann version is notable for the "garbled" enunciation of the phrase "revved up like a deuce" which has led many fans to interpret it "incorrectly". The original Springsteen lyric was "cut loose like a deuce". |
