His books include Dr. Heidenhoff's Process (1880), Miss Ludington's Sister (1884), The Duke of Stockbridge (1900), and the utopian novels Looking Backward: 2000Ú1887 (1888), and its sequel, Equality (1897). This story begins as a professor is studying Mars through his telescope. As he is starring at Mars he faints. He is found in the morning and there is a manuscript beside him. The narrative tells of his time on Mars where he met the Martians.
