3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty nice, but a little random.
Blindside's album's got some good songs, specifically Nerve, Superman, and Invert. But most of the CD seems a little random. A lot of their songs lack a sorta coherence. A lot of bands are loud and fast, yet keep a direct driving force. Blindside is a very good band, and has a lot of talent. But some of their songs seemed a bit to random and didn't have a lot of...

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST ALBUM FROM BLINDSIDE, December 5, 2005

This is Blindside's best album. Especially if you have the European version with the track 'Sidewinder' on it. This album is heavy, meaningful and inspirational. If you are going to start a Blindside collection GET THIS ONE FIRST

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Done Hardcore, May 24, 2000

Pop this Swedish quartet into the Cd player, and start rocking. From the first song, Invert, you hear both of Blindside's trademark styles, melodic rock, and screaming, intense, hardcore. Other notables are Superman, mostly a rock song, and my personal favorite, Nerve. Another great song to rock out to is Replay (which was the first Blindside song I ever heard). Lead singer Christian is best in this song with his melody to scream vocals with "well there I go again without having anything to SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!" The lyrics are as spiritual as the music is hard. If you are a fan of Swedish Hardcore bands, pick this one up, even if it is a pain in the neck to find.

4.0 out of 5 stars This title rocks!, March 12, 2000

I listen to all kinds of music (jazz, punk, classical, hardcore, techno), mostly christian and some segregated. This is deffinetly one of the best CD's in my collection. It has clear vocals and very controled instramentatal back rounds. These guys are some of the best and I think they should be up there with Limp Bizkit, Korn, and whoever else is popular because Blindside is just flat out better. Other than just being really good musicians they really express christ throughout their songs. There are lessons to be learned from these guys that is shared in a really enjoyable way.

5.0 out of 5 stars God saved the Deftones, December 13, 1999
This review is from: Blindside (Audio CD)
Wow! what a great CD. I have been saved for a long time but have just recently been convicted of my music, thus I hoped to find the same type of music I liked to listen to with Christian lyrics. This is it! These guys really sound good, the music is tight, the message is good. I am so glad that I found this music. The Deftones is one of my favorite bands but Blindside is every bit as good, better even when you consider their lyrics are giving glory to God. Go get this CD you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breaking the monotony of heavy music, October 5, 2001
This review is from: Blindside (Audio CD)
Blindside finds a way to combine fierce hardcore and commercial hard rock for a fresh sound. These songs are full of in your face guitars, thick grooves, and odd time signatures. Songs like "One Mind" and "Superman" are funky and come dangerously close to rap metal, but the just of the songs are relentless hardcore tunes. Whether the vocalist is singing or screaming, he's conveying tons of emotion. The lyrics are challenging and full of truth. Overall, this is just an amazing album that gets better over time (especially the slower tracks). This band doesn't fall firmly into one style of hard music, but most of this stuff is similar to Refused, with hints of Fugazi and Deftones.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, May 11, 2001

This cd is quite good. It's one of the sweetest melodic hardcore albums I've heard. The songs are very well done and quite catchy. The singer goes from soft to hard, and is quite talented. The only reason it gets a four is because nothing on this cd is unique or different. It's all standard hardcore and isn't groundbreaking material. The songs are above average, but they aren't good enough to get a five. But, if you like hardcore that isn't just screaming and is you'll love this.

5.0 out of 5 stars wow, April 3, 2001
This review is from: Blindside (Audio CD)
My introduction to the hardcore world of rock began with this c.d., and I must say, it's hard to move on to any other band. I currently own both of their c.d.'s, as well as some of their Swedish recordings, which are just as awesome, if not better than the American recordings. What people don't seem to know is that the guitarist, Simon, does a bit of screaming and singing himself, especially on the "A Thought Crushed My Mind" album. I recommend their first album for those who can't handle the screaming. But the second one works for those agressive moments in the car when you want something loud and agro. Also, check out their recordings on a Swedish compilation c.d., "Volym X". Good luck finding it, but if you do you'll enjoy a variety of crazy bands from the wonderful world of Sweden.
