Matt Seattle, a Sarasota stockbroker, befriends an older stock enthusiast, Joe Jesso. During one of their weekly Wednesday morning sessions, Joe announces he's gotten married. A week later, Joe dies. Believing Joe may have been the victim of a black widow, Matt hires an investigator to look into Joe's death. The investigator finds old Joe wasn't so innocent; he embezzled money from a drug cartel. Suddenly, Matt finds himself battling Joe's widow and her shyster lawyer who want his money, The National Association of Security Dealers who wants his broker's license, and, oh yes, the cartel who wants his life. A Thriller by Jay Giles

Blindsided is the debut thriller from Jay Giles. The book is being released simultaneously in the US, UK and Canada in trade paperback and audio.

From the Inside Flap

Ever been Blindsided?

Ever done the right thing and had it come back to haunt you?

That's what happened to Sarasota, Florida stockbroker Matt Seattle. He befriended an older stock enthusiast, Joe Jesso. The two men met every Wednesday morning to talk stocks, build Jesso's portfolio. Everything was fine until the seventy-eight-year-old Jesso married a lady fifty years his junior.

A week later, Joe was dead and Matt was scrambling for his life.

Suddenly, Matt finds himself battling a professional black widow and her shyster lawyer boyfriend. A drug cartel seems to think he has their money. And, oh, by the way, his own industry watchdog group, The National Association of Securities Dealers, would like a word with him. It’s enough to turn even the staunchest bull into a bear.

And Joe?

Well, Joe wasn't the innocent geezer he appeared to be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read!, February 21, 2006
This review is from: Blindsided (Paperback)
This is the best thriller I've read in a long time. The suspense and the triumph over evil make it an exciting read, but the little dog grabbed my heart. I read it twice and cried both times when I read about him. You will fall in love with Seattle and rejoice with him when his life finally begins to come together. This one should become a best-seller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping and Fun!, March 11, 2006
This review is from: Blindsided (Paperback)
This book was fun to read! I had to read the last 75-100 pages all at once because it was too tense to stop.

The author does a great job getting you sucked into the crazy events and then keeps turning up the pressure.

Wow! What a ride! Once the excitement starts, it doesn't stop until the last pages. You won't want to put this one down. Even my wife, who is normally not a reader, thouroughly enjoyed this one and had a hard time putting it down.

Great twists and turns throughout the story. If you like suspense and thrillers, you will love this book!
