Det. Lindow Woods can't believe the hot little attorney is going to get his chief link to a local drug ring off with almost no consequence. He though the kid should spend some time in jail. When he tries to ask her she brushes him off and heads back home. But, when she is threatened and her cousin disappears, will Lindow come to her rescue, more importantly will she...

3.0 out of 5 stars Just Ok, Not her best
IMO, this was not her best work. The story line was good, but the drama was a little too much for me. Also, my main problem was the typos. I try to never complain because I know the cost of editing, but OMG, this book was packed with typos.

Det. Lindow Woods can't believe the hot little attorney is going to get his chief link to a local drug ring off with almost no consequence. He though the kid should spend some time in jail. When he tries to ask her she brushes him off and heads back home. But, when she is threatened and her cousin disappears, will Lindow come to her rescue, more importantly will she rescue his heart as he tries to keep her safe?

Daria Jacobs has come out west to help her younger cousin out of a jam. He didn't do the crime he is accused of so even thought the hard assed cop seems to want him to go to jail she will make sure he doesn't. It is too bad that this cop is the first guy that has made her look more than once in the recent past. But she needs to head back to her job, and the life she has built for herself. Unfortunately, someone else doesn't want to see her cousin turn his life around and is out to get him, and shows up to take revenge on Daria. What will she do? Who will she call for help?

Blindsided was a fast paced fun read from Ms. Rochelle. I love seeing two head strong characters battle things out to get their way. I have enjoyed Ms. Rochelle's writings and continue to do so with Blindsided there is one slight drawback with this book. Red Rose does not do a great job of editing their writers works and there are a few glaring issues you run into when reading this book, though overall it did not take away from the storyline, it did occasionally confuse this reader. I loved how spunky Daria was and how she was more than the perfect match for Det. Woods. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Rochelle in the future.

I ACTUALLY WASN'T INTENDING TO BUY THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW, BUT I'M GLAD I DID AFTER READING THE WHOLE STORY. YES, THIS BOOK WAS EDITED BADLY; HOWEVER, THAT DIDN'T DETRACT FROM THE STORYLINE FOR ME. DARIA'S STRONG-WILLED PERSONALITY MADE ME THINK I WAS LOOKING IN A MIRROR, AND HER RELATIONSHIP WITH LINDOW WAS SO SPECIAL BECAUSE SHE WAS AFRAID TO TOTALLY OPEN HER HEART TO LOVE. LINDOW'S THE TYPE OF GUY A WOMAN WOULD LOVE TO BE WITH NO MATTER BLACK OR WHITE; HE LOVES WHOLE HEARTEDLY AND SOMETIMES THAT'S A BEAUTIFUL THING.

1.0 out of 5 stars worst book ever, November 15, 2010

This is probably the worst book I have ever read. Not only is the writing poor, but the grammar is atrocious. There are multiple errors all throughout the book - I mean, you can not go a few paragraphs without serious obvious errors. The main character is a fool, which is a shame considering she is so one dimensional, so the little we do know about her shows her to be retarded. I feel like this story could have had so much potential had the author taken the time to actually work on it.

Lindow was so protective I loved him, but Daria was just stupid. Why she would do the things she did I will never understand. But, more than their romance this include a interesting mystery. I wish the story was longer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent Storyline, February 5, 2009
This review is from: Blindsided (Paperback)
I enjoyed this story but there were a lot of grammar and spelling errors. If this book was edited prior to being printed, then the editor needs a new job! The words were small also. I would have preferred a longer story, the book was only 152 pages total, but overall the storyline had a good mix of suspense and romance.

2.0 out of 5 stars Proofreader needed!, October 31, 2011
This review is from: Blindsided (Kindle Edition)
For the MOST part the book was OK, but you have to get past all the grammatical errors! There was too many to count and they took away from the book tremendously.

Also I know its fiction, but the plot..the characters..EVERYTHING was too farfetched for me.

If you can, get it at the library (like I did).

5.0 out of 5 stars Daria and Lindow...a surprising read from Ms. Rochelle, July 14, 2011
This review is from: Blindsided (Paperback)
I really liked this book. It was totally different from the other Marie Rochelle books I have read in the past. I took this book on vacation with me by mistake. I was planning to read another one of books in my TBR(which is getting to big by the way with IR romances).

However, I was glad I did. Daria was a very complex character to me. She worked for this high priced law office but she didn't have them for her with her baby cousin's law problems she went there and her own meeting in my opinion one of the sexies men Ms. Rochelle has written about since Troy Christian and Hayward Campbell. Det. Lindow Woods (love the name!)

He wants he from the moment that he see her in the court room but he tries to stay focus on what is going on around him. He thinks her cousin needs to stay in jail but unfourtnately it doesn't happen.

Daria hates Lindow and sparks fly everytime they are in the room together. In her mind, Daria think she's helping out her cousin by doing all the crazy things she does without thinking them through, but don't we all think blood is thicker than water.

A couple of times I did get mad at Daria for putting herself in so many unsafe situation, but I got into the character and loved how she was willingly to do anything to protect her family even deny Lindow's orders a lot of the time.

I'm usually used to reading Ms. Rochelle sweet and romance stories that I have grown to love. But this book had more on an edge to it with the characters and plot she decided to go with.

Yes, Daria will have you pulling your hair out with her antics especially since she's a lawyer and should now better. But Lindow is so hot. I could overlook her and get into the story.

Is there going to be a sequel to this book with the brother?

1.0 out of 5 stars Shoot me please..., July 13, 2011

WARNING: THIS REVIEW MAY BE MILDLY SPOILERIFIC...

I've been on a IR romance novel bender for a bit. A few are great, some are good, most are craptastically awful but they're all in good trashy fun, like having ice cream and chips for dinner. But this book? Oh. My. HolyChristOnACracker. This book was bad enough to break through my apathy and laziness and force me to write a review.

First off, the heroine Daria. Holy Dinky Dumba** Batman! If you were to look up "Heroine, Too Stupid To Live" in the dictionary, there would be an entire page dedicated solely to this woman, complete with moving pictures of her crying, stamping her foot and brandishing her pepper spray and her law degree. The woman spends the entire book being assaulted, held at gunpoint and nearly raped by gangsters who FIND HER EVEN IN WITNESS PROTECTION. So she does what any sane person would do. She ditches her lustful police escort (the hero) at every turn, puts on her big girl Nancy Drew panties, walks right to the trouble, gets assaulted AGAIN and blames it on everyone else. Why the hero is so enamored of this woman, I have no idea. By the by, the hero is sort of a face-less, personality-less hunk of a cop that exists solely to chase around after Dumba** Daria.

Also - and this bothers the crap out of me - the characters spend a lot of time walking around and speaking their thoughts aloud, which the writer uses as a method of advancing the plot. (Many IR writers tend to do this and, unfortunately, Marie Rochelle or whoever does it a lot) Writers, if you can't figure out how to show and not tell, then please get thee to a workshop or a class and upgrade your craft.
