5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Songs
I lost my daughter three months ago at the age of two and I just heard the song "in My Arms" on the radio and could not stop crying. I came home and instantly order this cd. I love that song and all the other songs on the Cd. What a beautiful voice, almost sounds like the girl in Evenescence.
I swear that song was written for me and my daughter.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite...maybe in a few years
I was a bit disappointed with this cd, mainly because all the songs are lullabies. Great cd if you're a parent with children, but as I am not, it's not one I'd recommend if you're used to Plumb's other albums. If you're looking for lullabies, then this is great. But as I don't plan on having kids for some time, the lyrics don't really resonate with me--it's one of those...

4.0 out of 5 stars Softer side of Plumb, October 10, 2007
This review is from: Blink (Audio CD)
For the many fans of plumb out there, you will be in for a surprise with this album, i just recently started listening to plumb about a year ago and i have heard almost all of their songs. I honestly was expecting a faster pace with this album, but this is definitely the softer side of plumb and one can tell that its really geared towards family. I cant wait for the next album to be out, just because im so used to plumb in their faster rock mode. In the mean time enjoy this album with the family. God bless

5.0 out of 5 stars great gifts for moms-to-be, June 11, 2008
This review is from: Blink (Audio CD)
I've been buying this CD for all my friends and family who are having babies, and everyone loves it. Men and women alike connect with the sweet and soaring lullabies. If you want to bless a new mom with music that helps express the beautiful jumble of emotions they feel as they welcome the new life they're now charged with, and have a gift that really stands out among all the onesies and binkies at the baby shower, this is a must buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lullabies, May 28, 2008
This review is from: Blink (Audio CD)
Yes, this CD is mainly lullabies, but Tiffany told her fans that was what it was going to be. The music is so beautiful and will put your little one to sleep. I really enjoy this album. Her last one was very dark, so it is nice to see something that is not from her this time around. A lot of good Christian songs on this and it is probably one of her best.

This arrived yesterday and I love it. I am a big Plumb fan, but I don't understand the people knocking it for not being like her other albums. The cover has a photo of a mom, 2 kids and watering can on it!!! What did you expect? She makes it clear it's for her kids and about being a new mom and about her 2 kids.

Her voice shines on this album like those in the past. It's a very soothing album, not the rocking sound of prior albums. I am a Plumb fan and new mom, so this is a perfect album for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Lullaby CD - That's what it was intended to be, October 10, 2008
This review is from: Blink (Audio CD)
I just have to say that after reading several reviews from people who complained that this album was "boring" and that Plumb has "gone soft", they should be reading up on their albums before they buy then. This album is full of beautiful lullabies. That's what it was intended to be. If someone were to do their homework, they could find the information about why this album was written on Plumbs myspace page [...]. The intent of the artist was to release a lullaby type cd because she wasn't able to tour at the time and she had been thinking about the idea for a while. Yes, Plumb does have a harder side to their music at times and they are known for that. That side of the music is great as well. This cd was intended to be a lullaby type cd and when critiqued based off of knowing that, I'd have to say, it's a great CD. It's full of lyrics that talk about love for a child, protection for a child and knowledge that God ultimately has control over that child's life and will care for him/her. What better message, combined with beautiful, soothing music, could you ask for in modern lullabies???

4.0 out of 5 stars Another good album by Plumb, November 21, 2007

This review is from: Blink (Audio CD)
I now have 3 of Plumb's albums, Beautiful Lumps of Coal, Chaotic Resolve, and Blink. I would have to say that Chaotic Resolve is still my favorite. Blink has a theme of motherhood (as well it should since the artist just had a baby), instead of her more usual "rock" style songs. I love the song "In My Arms" which is the song that turned me on to Plumb in the first place. I like the album, but it definitely has a different feel to it than the other 2 albums I have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, February 22, 2008

I absolutly love this CD. If you're not a mom, you won't like it at all, but as a mom, it's my new favorite! All the songs are beautiful, and actually seem to put into words things I was unable to say but felt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent album!, January 13, 2009
This review is from: Blink (Audio CD)
I have been a Plumb fan since candycoatedwaterdrops, and I have to say that this is my favorite Plumb album so far. Of course, it helps that my life journey seems to be paralleling Tiffany's somewhat... if I didn't have young children I might not find this album quite as pertinent, but I would still think it beautiful. If you don't have kids I would definitely recommend listening to the album carefully before buying, since most of these songs are clearly related to the wonders of motherhood and probably wouldn't resonate as well with those not in the same stage of life. (hence many of the negative reviews.) The album has a very trancy lullaby feel, which my 2 year old twins and I find particularly enjoyable and relaxing. I haven't taken it out of their CD player since I got it. We play it at nap time and bedtime, and it is very soothing. The songs are powerful and deeply moving, and if I had heard them within the first few months of bringing the babies home I never would have stopped weeping. Good thing I held off a while. ;o) Plumb's version of the hymn "God Will Take Care of You" is my new all-time favorite song--it is absolutely beautiful.

To say this album is a departure for Plumb is not entirely accurate. Rather, it reflects her current place in life's journey. It is different than her other albums, as well it should be. If you are looking for more upbeat stuff, go for the remixes of "In My Arms." There's one on the Plumb MySpace page and at least 3 on YouTube, if you want to check them out. Of course, the song is still a mother singing to her baby boy.

If you are a truly a fan of Plumb's musicianship, her ethereal voice, and her beautiful spirit, this album will not disappoint. Motherhood is, after all, a relatively universal experience... even if you'll never be a mother, we've all got one. Think of it as your mother singing over you and I guarantee you'll have to wipe your eyes at least once.

5.0 out of 5 stars Understated Power, December 7, 2007

Going into it, I knew this was a concept album, an ode from a mother to her children. I knew it was mellower than standard Plumb. On the other hand, I'd heard the song "In My Arms" and found it to be hauntingly beautiful.

I popped in the disk and, to my pleasant surprise, found that the entire album follows suit. This isn't your hard-rocking Tiffany Arbuckle, but it's a side of her we've seen glimpses of through the years, an ethereal, honest voice that can move us even when it's delivered in a whisper. Many of the lyrics, though fitting for the parent-child relationship, can also have meaning in other relationships, and that makes this album one with broader appeal than one might think. The artwork is fantastic, the presentation and layout perfectly matched to the content.

If you appreciate Plumb's previous ballads, or if you're a fan of Sarah McLachlan or early Jewel, you'll find yourself mesmerized by the understated power in this collection of tunes.
