From Publishers Weekly
When one of Santa's reindeer gets a whiff of the aroma from Bernie's blintz shop, he takes a break from delivering gifts on Christmas Eve. Bernie and his family teach Blitzen about Hanukkah, chiefly through the consumption of blintzes; Blitzen, assuming an ambassadorial role, remarks, "That sounds a lot like our Christmas celebration, except we remember a different kind of miracle." The two-color art is inept and the storytelling often brittle, with the magic and awe left out of the holidays?it's as if a good nosh is the essence of Hanukkah and Santa represents the true spirit of Christmas. Ages 3-up.
