5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Album, Every Song January 4, 2002
Format:Audio CD
I originally purchased this album due to one song, "I'd Die Without You". Very rarely have I been rewarded with as great an album as this one.
It starts with a short intro, apparently from an actual psychic reading Prince Be had done, and transitions nicely into the second track. From that point on, you're treated to a great variety of music, blending funk, R&B, and a little rap even, to a wonderful musical sound that varies from the slow ballads of "I'd Die Without You" and "More Than Likely", to some more bass-heavy, yet not overpowering songs.
They even covered The Beatles' "Norwegian Wood", and it sounds just as magical as the rest of the album.
There were times in college, dealing with some negative situations, that I would use this CD and it's uplifting feelings and sounds to cheer up my mood, and it worked flawlessly - any time I felt bad, simply playing this album would make me feel better.
It may be a little dated now, but anyone who likes P.M. Dawn would be nuts to be without this wonderful musical selection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A purely listenable CD from start to finish May 22, 2002
Format:Audio CD
To put it quite plainly, this CD is great. As other reviews on this site have pointed out, the music on this disc runs the gamut from hard to mellow. What makes this CD so wonderful is that regardless of whether your tastes lean to the hard or mellow side, the entire package has such a smooth flow that you can't help but be drawn into the music.
It's difficult to place this disc into a given category, except for perhaps "Excellent", and therefore I recommend it to everyone, regardless of what sort of music you enjoy listening to. This is the sort of CD that might unexpectedly broaden the limits of your musical taste; I know it did just that for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprised! March 21, 2000
By Morado
Format:Audio CD
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this CD. Samples or not, I like the way they blend everything together. Some of my favorite's are: "When Midnight Sighs"-Hard to describe, a lot going on, groovy, bass heavy. "About Nothing(For the Love of Destiny)" is another bass heavy up tempo song that is dope. "More than Likely" and "To Love You More" are beautiful ballads with soothing sampled guitar riffs and piano. Cool lyrics too. I liked the George Michael sampled "Looking Through Patient Eyes"(I remember the first time I heard that song was at a cafe in Venice, Italy in '93. I thought it was a remix of "Father Figure" until I recognized the voice), and also "I Would Die Without You," which will forever remind me of a certain someone... I was happy overall with this, give it a whirl. ...And smile! ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled, this is REAL HIP HOP August 19, 2005
Format:Audio CD
This was the 3rd P.M. Dawn album I purchased. I was expecting it just being mainly all singing, as Jesus Wept was. I am glad to say I was wrong. It actually is the album that probably has the MOST rapping on it. Maybe even more than the debut.

The album starts with, "When Mightnight Sighs". The first time I listened to this song I was in the car and I found myself singing along by the time the chorus came around.

The second song "So on & so on" was basically an all singing song, but I really enjoyed this one, because the vocals were delivered very quickly.

Next comes Plastic. This is straight up hip hop. Prince Be comes with the power of Chuck D ready to tell people how he feels about the negative attention the hip hop community has given them. (that's how I saw it)

The production/music on Ways of the Wind is very beautiful. Crazy ass bassline too. I must say the production/music on this album is on point. It's close, if not as good as the first album.

Next comes, "To Love Me More". I am not a a big fan of the slow singing songs, but when they are put around a bunch of upbeat songs with rapping, it has a good balance and you appreciate them a lot more. I think this song is fun and keeps things versitile.

One of my favorites "About Nothing for the Love of Destiny". This song is great. The music is top notch and the chorus is simply amazing. The sarcasm (i hope) in the chorus is great. "I like the way you change your looks, I like the way you change your style..I like the way you talk about nothing". I LOVE the little synth SOLO. I LOVE IT!! haha.

The cover of the Beatles "Norwegian Wood" was actually pulled off reallly well. The drums are straight up boom bap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Will Never Be Faded February 1, 2000
Format:Audio CD
This second album is much deeper then I expected. The first album brought a wave of new philosophical ideas. But after viewing the soul/hip hop tracks behind the spiritually enligtening proverbs, Prince B and J.C. deserves every bit of commend on this time around. "The Ways of the Wind" has esoteric meaning within in the lyrics. I'm sure that when it was written it was intended for that. The track behind "Raining Cats and Dogs" is cosmic: nothing that has been done before. In my book, I voted PM dawn the best musicians that ever walked in the studio. Keep it real and keep them coming...

5.0 out of 5 stars Offers something for every mood. December 22, 1998
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I picked up this album after falling in love with the last track (I'd Die Without You), and soon after felt the same way about the rest of the album. Somehow it provides not just musical entertainment, but spiritual support (which says a lot coming from an Athiest) - no matter what my mood, I've been able to listen to this album and come out of it feeling better.
The variety of songs offer something for whatever you want - the slow, wistful lyrics in I'd Die Without You, to the rap sounds of Plastic.
A must buy.
