I find that this CD of "mini-meditations" is a great way to energize myself during the day-emotionally, intellectually, and even physically. Since no track lasts longer than 11 minutes, the meditations fit easily into my schedule, and I'm always glad when I make time for one. Sjoquist's voice is relaxing yet expressive, encouragingly guiding you on your journey, and the music is unobtrusive without completely fading into the background, the arrangements being just interesting enough to add to the experience.

It's also nice that the tracks engage your imagination as differently as they do. "Love Letter to Me," with its hypnotic, cross-fading voices, is more language-oriented than other meditations; "Scrapbook of Fond Memories" exercises one's memory; and tracks like "Flowering" are almost tactile in the way they engage one's sensorium. Essentially you can pick the tracks that best fit your personality or that match or even counterpoint the kind of day you're having.

This CD nicely complements the other Consciousness Arts products I own, too: Daily Bliss Trips, an email subscription that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to start the day with vigorous optimism and a CD of longer meditations, the equally impressive THE DOLPHIN'S DANCE.
