4.0 out of 5 stars Good Driving Music
While it may not be cool anymore to like bands such as Krokus, I still love this record...they weren't the best band ever, but there are really great songs on this album, and it has some absolutely awesome production. High points include "Rock The Nation," "Hot Stuff," "Midnite Maniac," and "Our Love." The only song I hate on this...

3.0 out of 5 stars good
I like to listen to this when i'm in the mood for some harder edged 80's pop-metal. 1983-84 was the best period for this type of music, and this has some good songs on it from the era.

High points include "Rock The Nation," "Hot Stuff," "Midnite Maniac," and "Our Love." The only song I hate on this CD is the cover of Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz," which is a lame song no matter who does it. Pop this one in on a warm day, roll down the windows, let your mullet fly and crank it up!

One of the most unsung bands of its time - Krokus was a standout long before metal became mainstream. IMO, Headhunter started it all and the band peaked in 1984 with the Blitz. Long before the hair bands adorned MTV's Headbanger's Ball, these guys pumped out an album that had 9 driving, well-produced, catchy tunes. Vocals flow lock-step with the rhythm, and Fernando's lead guitar and Jeff's percussion are stellar and some of the most underrated of their era. Storace's vocals appear to many as AC/DC wanna-be, though the total Krokus package is beyond comparison. Truly one of the albums that defined the band (pick up Headhunter, Change of Address, and Heart Attack for the others, in that order), The Blitz features Midnight Maniac, Boy's Night Out, Our Love, Ballroom Blitz, and Rock the Nation. -- Damn I miss these Guys...

5.0 out of 5 stars The first tape I ever owned, and still enjoy to this day!, February 28, 2003

A great metal album, these guys and Ratt were 2 bands along with Sammy Hagars solo stuff, that I first listened to back in 1985...so much good metal then...

the opening riff for midnite maniac sets the tone for this album. This is not Fun metal, not dark metal, not progressive metal, it's just a little bit of everything, mostly driving guitars, GREAT RIFFS and pounding drums and bass, and the vocals screech with as much intensity as AC/DC or Cinderella. Download a song or to and check it out, if ya like it then buy it, If you're a fan of metal you have to get this!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Black album of krokus, September 25, 2005
By
This review is from: Blitz (Audio CD)
Ok I know Krokus weren't the most talented or original band that came out on the rock scene But who cares what matters is there are some catchy tunes on this album that get you singing and headbanging isn't that what 80's rock all about catchy tunes, singable choruses and crunchy riffs. This album was the first mainstream album that did loose some of their die hard metal audience just like what happened when MetallicA released their black album. Anyway there are some goodl Krokus songs like Our Love (will never die), Rock the Nation, Hot Stuff and their of The Sweets Ballroom blitz. If you are an 80's metal lover then go and buy this album but if you are more of a die hard rock fan then approach this album with caution

Simply the best,1984's'The Blitz'represented the pinnacle of Krokus's career, with fantastic grooves a la old AC/DC-and Storace's vocals,too-attitude,super tight playing, and merciless songs that just added fuel to the fire and kept going. And this is only one of the great albums that came out in 1984...

4.0 out of 5 stars Catchy tunes !, December 15, 2005
This review is from: Blitz (Audio CD)
I always loved Krokus and was never ashamed to admit I liked the bands I liked !

The Blitz is a great album with some super catchy tunes on it ! Midnight Maniac sounds as good today as it did back in the 80's as does Our Love.

Any true fan of Krokus or netal should own the Blitz without question.

For that matter check out all the other Krokus releases as well and pay no attention to no minds who rag the bands you love or used to love !

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Rock Album, January 13, 2000
By
This review is from: Blitz (Audio CD)
This album has always been one of my favorite hard rock albums and I'd recommend it to everyone who really likes BRITISH and World's hard and heavy metal of the 80's. Yes, this album comes from the greatest period of this kind of music when bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon, Def Leppard and many more reached their top positions. Unfortunately albums like this are very rare nowadays and everyone who intends to create a collection of these days in the past should have this one on the first line.
