This is a very heavy top. Don't use this in the house unless you want your tiles and wood floor ruined. But you can buy some sort of cardboard board at homedepot to spin ontop of. It spins on the floor great. The problem is that is so heavy its hard to do the trick where you pick it off the floor and spin it in your hand. Also throwing the top in the air and catching can be dangerous if you lose control. It is a ball bearing top. You can do lot of professional type tricks I guess if your a pro. Overall I would not recommend for a beginner. Try to get a lighter top. Don't get the duncan imperial though. that one is way too light.
