Good product,

I've driven probably 3,000 miles with these racks and two longboards on my car. It takes some practice to find the sweet spot for your board and your car, but once you've got the routine down, these racks are rock solid. Like the reviewer before me said, don't buy these if you've got an antenna in the middle of your roof or those seatbelts that automatically slide forward and backwards, like those that were made in the early '90s.

These racks work great for the price. Quick to put on and holds boards well. Strap them on tight and you'll get no movement. If you get a loud hum from 1 of the straps just twist it 1 time to make it stop.

I didn't expect much out of these racks, but to my surprise they worked extremely well. I used them with both one and two short boards doing freeway driving (at speeds I'd rather not admit to) and this thing worked like a charm. Only once over several hundred miles of driving did one of the straps start to come lose and vibrate. A 30 second retighten and we were back on our way.
A couple of things to note: 1. If you have a wider board, the metal buckles might sit on the rails. Might be a good idea to use a board bag or have some padding you can put between the board and the buckles. 2. I put some anti-slip rug material between the straps and the board. This seemed to keep the straps from vibrating and creating a ruckus. Plus I felt better about the boards not sliding around.

This is a great and easy to use surf rack! Drove all over Nicaragua including the mountains with multiple boards. Easy to put boards off and on and no damage to the boards or vehicle.Block Surf Single Surfboard Car Racks

I have a TWO-DOOR Honda Civic. I was nervous that the board would fit and stay on.
They fit fine, and have driven at speeds of 60mph on a windy day and they were great. It really does transform a car that had no way of bringing boards around to something incredible that can carry boards. I have a 2door civic, two 7inch funboards. Everything works like it is supposed to.

It does what it promises and holds your board on the roof quite well. You can get good solid tension on the webbing straps to hold it in place and the board doesn't move around too much. Depending on your car you'll wan't to put some thought into where the front strap runs and where your head will be in the car. Having it rub on your head is a little annoying but you can just move it forward or backward a bit to avoid that.
The one thing I didn't like about this rack was the poor instruction manual printed on the case. It doesn't have a paper manual, just the one printed on the case it comes in, which is pretty much illegible. You don't want the board flying through somebody's windshield so proper instructions would really be a lot of help. When I set it up the first time I found a good video here - [...] that shows a little better

It is compact and convenient for instant use purpose, as it takes 5-10 min for me to set it up from scratch. However, in rain, drips from the strap make the interior wet pretty much. It may be more problem by the material (webbing), rather than the thickness of the strap. Since my car is a 1 year old Mazda 3, the door shield is almost in the perfect condition.

These tie-downs work well on a car without a rack. The car is protected, the board is protected and held well. I did one long trip with a board on the car, and now use them all the time for the short drive to the beach. I don't cinch them down too tight on my son's soft (foam) board, because the board gets indents, but this is due to the type of board, not any problem with the tie straps. These have kept me from having to buy a rack for the car, which I would have had to buy straps and pads for anyway.

Just what I needed,

Been using this rack in several different rented and borrowed cars while on vacation, and have no complaints. Looks kind of flimsy, but once snugged up, it helds my 9' windsurf board securely, with no apparent slippage even at freeway speeds. No problems with roof denting, and the straps wrap tightly through the weatherstripping around the doors without leaving a permanent impression. For long-term use, get a real rack, but for occasional or short-term use, this is a great solution.

Cheap and useful rack. Relatively easy to put on to almost any car. I've loaded at least 4 boards onto this single wrap rack.
