4.0 out of 5 stars Good book with title confusion June 9, 2013
Apparently, this has been reprinted as Blogging my Way to Indie Success. Amazon show the same cover, with Write First listed as OP. Maybe the author could clear this up?
Write First, Clean Later is a collection of articles and posts by mystery writer L. J. Sellers. These short well-written pieces offer many helpful hints for the aspiring writer. From grammatical and style tips to marketing schedules, there is a great deal of information here. Sellers is particularly good at laying out a plan for e-publishing and marketing on your own. This book is useful for anyone who writes, and essential for anyone who hopes to make a living at it

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Information and Fun to Read March 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
L.J. Sellers knows of what she speaks and speaks it well. While this includes articles that are not directly related to blogging, they are usually related indirectly. Think of it as the adventures of L.J. Sellers, author and blogger, mother and wife. By the way, her mystery novels are engaging, fun to read and even somewhat controversial from time to time. I'm a fairly new reader of Sellers' but I keep coming back to her work, her mysteries; it's a little like dropping in to hang out with old friends--one of whom is a detective--while they're in the midst of a noir-ish crisis in small city Eugene, OR. But I digress. "Blogging My Way to Indie Success" delivers valuable information about blogging, marketing, writing...and living.

Does this sound like a review by a friend? No, it's really not that. I have never met Sellers but I like what she's doing a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book By Someone Who Has Actually DONE It February 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It's a bizarre thing, to me but many of the books about self-publishing and writing are by people who simply have no credentials--or ability. Publishing one slim book on the Kindle doesn't make you an expert, and if you don't know how to use "it's," then you shouldn't be writing ANYTHING, much less instructing others. Sadly, there are lots of books like this out there.

However, "Blogging My Way to Indie Success," by L. J. Sellers is by someone who is an EXCELLENT writer, who has worked hard to master the craft, and who has done the difficult work of building her presence. And she has a lot of books out there, and they're good.

If you're interested in writing and creating a career writing, then this is a useful and interesting book that will move you along the way. It's always instructive to learn from the intelligent experience of others.
