Book Description

Bloggrls August 1, 2007
Sadie, a.k.a. nugrl90, finds out one day that her semi-happy teen life is taking a serious turn toward disaster. Not only are her parents really, truly getting divorced (as they've threatened a hundred times), but now her family is moving! She has to share a room with WS (Wicked Sister) and start the school year as 'the new girl.' So Sadie creates a blog to sort out every W3TP (What's Wrong With This Picture?) that has suddenly entered her life. When Sadie meets BB (Buff Boy), she thinks that maybe her luck is changing. Could this be Sadie's chance to fit in at her new school? Or will a relationship with BB isolate her even more? Through it all, Sadie has her blog--where she vents to friends and where she discovers the inner strength to keep moving forward. Written entirely in blog style, complete with a unique 'clicktionary' explaining blogspeak and scattered hand-drawn artwork throughout, Sadie's story will pull in readers from the very first page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful story told through a blog!, September 6, 2007
This review is from: Bloggrls, Book One: Nugrl90 (Sadie) (Bloggrls) (Paperback)
The nugrl90 book is fabulous! Sadie, aka nugrl90, has to deal with many changes in her life. Her parents are divorcing and her mother moves her and her sister to a new town and Sadie has to go to a new school! Sadie's life is turned upside down by all these changes and she is just miserable!! She misses her friends, she misses her dad, her mother is depressed and her sister is a complete freak. Things seem to get better when she starts making a few friends and she gets a new boy friend, but these new people introduce some serious trouble into her life. Sadie creates a blog where she writes about her life and the blog seems to help her figure out her problems. The reader is able to follow the events in Sadie's life through the entries in the blog.
The thing that I love about Sadie is that she is a real teenager. She isn't perfect and doesn't always know what she should do. The story shows how she is faced with many difficulties and how she figures out how to cope. The interesting thing about nugrl90 is that Sadie's blog seems to become a therapeutic tool for her as she makes difficult decisions in her life. One of my favorite parts of the story is when Sadie has to deal with one particularly tough situation and she determines that the problem is too big to handle on her own and goes to an adult for help. Sadie shows us how tough it is to be a teenager, but makes us proud as she uses good judgment to resolve her problems. The story was superb and I think Sadie is a real hero and a great role model. It is an excellent story for teens and adults will enjoy it too!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so Great!, May 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bought this book for my 14 yr old daughter, who is some what a techie. Anyway, she read most of it but didn't finish. She thought it was "weird". Didn't like it much.
