Product Description

Amazon.com

Try something out of the ordinary for your next cup of tea. This modern and stylish teastick holds just enough loose tea to brew a single cup of tea. Designed for Blomus by German firm Floz Design, the stick consists of a brushed stainless-steel tube perforated at one end with infusion holes, and a black plastic insert that slides out for filling with tea leaves. To use, simply insert the stick into a cup of hot water. Look for a wide range of stainless-steel tea accessories from Blomus to match the teastick, such as a tea caddy, sugar and creamer set, tea cups, and a serving tray.

Blomus is the brand name launched in 2001 for contemporary stainless-steel products by SKS-Design, a family-owned German design company now run by the family's fifth generation. Comprising more than 500 items for the kitchen, bath, bar, fireplace, office, and outdoor patio, Blomus products embody this philosophy: Good design is both simple to use and beautiful to look at. Most Blomus products are made in Germany. --Ann Bieri

2.0 out of 5 stars more plastic October 11, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
the concept is great.
but
i have my concerns...the inside is plastic. if you dont want to put plastic in hot water ( i dont) then move on to an old fashion tea ball.
theres also a metal spring inside the device. you cant see it; you also cant see it if it begins to rust.

you cant pack much tea in this either.. being that the tea expands when wet, i can only fill it half way, and am not able to make my teas strong enough.

hope this helps

3.0 out of 5 stars cool design...so-so functionality February 27, 2009
By Chagall
I got this as a gift because everyone knows that I love tea...and as a gift for the tea afficionado/collector, it's fantastic because of it's uniqueness/design. However, as a tea infuser, it doesn't work as well as my cheapie stainless steel ball infusers.

pros:

--beautiful, modern design
--very portable & fun
--conversation piece
--works reasonably well in a pinch for very small leafed tea

cons:

--won't work for large, full leaf teas (won't do full leaf Sencha--my fave)
--is very tall, requires a tallish cup (I prefer english tea cups, where it won't stand up--but great in mugs)
--tea does not infuse 100%

But as a collectors item, I adore it! :)

Hope this helps!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't purchase. January 5, 2008
Everything is great about this item except how well it brews tea. It doesn't allow enough circulation or hold enough leaves, leaving each cup far too weak. It's now collecting dust as I've gone back to my cuptop strainer and french press. Very disappointing for such a good idea. I'm sure a new updated version will arrive soon. Until then, this is useless.
