5.0 out of 5 stars talk about fabulous form and function
My favorite part of the Teastick is its portability. And of course, clean up is a breeze. At the moment, I own 24 differant loose teas and 24 Yixing tea pots. At home I will have tea the more traditional way. But on the go...buy a Teastick.

2.0 out of 5 stars more plastic
the concept is great.
but
i have my concerns...the inside is plastic. if you dont want to put plastic in hot water ( i dont) then move on to an old fashion tea ball.
theres also a metal spring inside the device. you cant see it; you also cant see it if it begins to rust.

hope this helps

3.0 out of 5 stars cool design...so-so functionality, February 27, 2009
This review is from: Blomus 63188 6-1/4-Inch Teastick (Kitchen)
I got this as a gift because everyone knows that I love tea...and as a gift for the tea afficionado/collector, it's fantastic because of it's uniqueness/design. However, as a tea infuser, it doesn't work as well as my cheapie stainless steel ball infusers.

pros:

--beautiful, modern design
--very portable & fun
--conversation piece
--works reasonably well in a pinch for very small leafed tea

cons:

--won't work for large, full leaf teas (won't do full leaf Sencha--my fave)
--is very tall, requires a tallish cup (I prefer english tea cups, where it won't stand up--but great in mugs)
--tea does not infuse 100%

But as a collectors item, I adore it! :)

Hope this helps!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't purchase., January 5, 2008
Everything is great about this item except how well it brews tea. It doesn't allow enough circulation or hold enough leaves, leaving each cup far too weak. It's now collecting dust as I've gone back to my cuptop strainer and french press. Very disappointing for such a good idea. I'm sure a new updated version will arrive soon. Until then, this is useless.

The concept is great. It looks good, and it works great too... at the beginning. Unfortunately the materials used for the inner part deform after a while due to the use of hot water.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but has a few faults..., February 26, 2010
This review is from: Blomus 63188 6-1/4-Inch Teastick (Kitchen)
It is a convenient, nice looking piece of modern art that will do the job well enough but to a point.

Pros:
Cleaning is a snap.
The design is very modern.
Portability: It is small enough for you to carry with you in your purse. But I don't see many people traveling with a can of loose tea in their purse/messenger bag (so portability would hardly be the main concern).
The plastic is heat safe and doesn't add metallic taste to the tea.

Cons:
Filling it with tea is a struggle (snout is too narrow, need one hand to hold the infuser open and another to fill in the tea).
The holes are too small and only on 1 side so the tea doesn't defuse well (70%-80%). (If you like your tea mild this will not be a problem, If you, however; like your tea strong this is not for you.
Not practical for 'low rise' porcelain cups (classic english tea cup) infuser will not stand.

Some people are also concerned about the inner spring durability. Personally I do not worry about it as the spring is strong and well insolated from the part that does get wet.

One must consider his/her needs and other products other there. Compare to other infusers I give it 3* I like it but I don't love it.

I use the teastick several days a week and find it works well, makes good tea, and cleans easily. It's easy to load and empty, and although I bought it for form, the function is excellent as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars This product is terrible!!! (paperweight), March 27, 2011
This review is from: Blomus 63188 6-1/4-Inch Teastick (Kitchen)
My girlfriend bought this for me, I have tried around 6 different types of loose leaf tea with it. Every single one except the white leaves since they are bigger have filtered through the holes in the tea stick because they are so big!

Not only will you have floating particles in your tea, but the water is not absorbing the flavor from the tea. So if you want to waste your money not only on this useless stick, but by wasting your tea then buy this product. It is going straight in the trash can.

3.0 out of 5 stars Innovative Tea Strainer, January 9, 2010

I first discovered this tea strainer in Paris. I loved it so much - despite that it takes a longer time to steep - that I purchased one for my mother. It is most convenient and easy to clean.
