I read reviews on this item before purchasing it but didn't quite understand. The metal is solid-check. It holds lots of cards - check. Heavy, feels good in your hands - check. Looks good and makes a good impression - check. Stays shut and protects your business cards - NO. The problem isn't a defective unit. The problem is the design.

I expected that the lid work something like a zippo lighter. After all, the similarities in appearance are too many to discuss. The lid instead, is held "closed" through friction. If you look very carefully at the picture on Amazon, you'll see to the side opposite the hing a metal tooth coming out of the case. That tooth is ever so slightly angled so that the lid fits over it and then pulls against it. One might think of it as a sort of doorstop? Anyways, initially, the lid stays closed. However, the design always assumed that the solid hinge show absolutely no wear at all. In less than a month, the lid began to open. I'm not sure if the metal tooth became ever so slightly bent or if the hinge lost some shape.

It didn't bother me too much, as the cards within would "catch" the lid, so the cards have never spilled out. However, what does happen is that the corners of my business cards become dented.

The purpose of this product is first and foremost to protect business cards. It does not fulfill this purpose. If you don't need a business card holder, but, need something shiny and heavy to carry around in your pocket, then this item is perfect!

I was looking for this since I read the reviews. But it is bigger than your business cards and the hinge makes it difficult to close with ease. IT is very heavy, and I cant use it for my cards. Im disappointed..

I've been using this for a couple of weeks and have had ZERO problems with the functionality of it as a business card holder. The hinge has not had any problems and the lip that catches the lid works just fine in holding it shut. I've also not had any problems with my business cards bending at the corners inside the case. It looks professional and is definitely unique. It's nice to pull out in front of clients or friends and does get many compliments.

The problem that I've had with the case are just the amount of fingerprints that stick to it with just one handling. You'll either have to just accept that fingerprints are a part of using this case or be using your shirt or a sunglasses cleaning cloth to clean the prints off after so much usage. To me it's honestly NOT that big of a deal because if you handle it, just like a touchscreen phone, of course it's going to get fingerprints on it. If you can't stand the thought of fingerprints then search on, at least you know what you're getting.

As for problems with any hinge and lip, mine have been sturdy from the get go. If the lip should ever not hold the cover I could probably just use some small needle nose pliers and bend it outward again so it would still catch the cover and hold it down.

4 stars. Would have been 5 without the fingerprint issue.

I love the size, initial look and feel, but after handling it for 2-3 minutes, I realized it was going to be impossible to keep fingerprints off of it. If you buy this one, be prepared to constantly wipe off finger prints. It is an impressive, initial first impression when handing someone a card from your business card holder, but be aware to keep it looking nice and new, you'll have to give it constant TLC.

I'm a designer and thought this card holder looked really cool so I ignored the reviews and got it anyway. Indeed, this card holder looks fab. I even went to a meeting with another designer, and we both agreed - it's fab.

But... not only does it have the hinge problem (believe me, yours will too), but the way it closes makes it really easy to mess with the top edges of your cards. So I find I am fishing around trying to find a un-screwed up card. Giving a card with worn edges does not look fab. It looks sloppy. Not the image I want to project.

I'm going to keep this card holder for special occasions -interviews maybe, or when I know I'm meeting another designer... but that's a lot of shuffling cards around. And to hold cards that I hand out daily - no.

I purchased this case so that my biz cards wouldn't looked all banged up as if just in my purse.
I love the look of it, but mine doesn't stay closed and that bothers me.
the cards don't fall out but it's still a defect. I tried fixing it but bending stainless steel is not exactly easy and I would scratch it if I used a plier. on that note, don't have it next to your keys, it will get scratched!

after having it had in my handbag for 1 year the cap just broke off at the hinge.

This is a good durable card holder, however it is also a bit heavy. If you really need to protect your cards, this is a good buy, but it's not worth it if you want to go ultra-light (like I was looking for).

Fits 6 to 10 credit cards (I only have a few to judge by) or business cards. Does not fit 1/2 folded US dollars. Will fit 1/4 folded us dollars.

Love this product. Gets people's attention and respect. Cool when you take out your business cards from it....

Awesome little wallet that I used mainly for cards like my license, credit cards, and membership cards. I would have given it 5 stars if it just fight a couple more cards. It fits around 6 pretty well. I never used it for business cards so I can't comment on that.

I was very pleased with the card holder. The style was just what I was looking for. The time period in shipping was minimal.
