Product Description

YOU PROBABLY THINK YOU KNOW ALL THERE IS TO KNOW.

ANNA NICOLE SMITH LOST HER SON.

SHE ACCIDENTALLY OVERDOSED. SHE WAS A DRUG ADDICT.

YOU DON'T KNOW A THING...

She was famous for being famous-Americana at its Scarlet Letter-wearing best. A bodacious young girl from Texas, Anna remade herself into the centerfold of the world. She was a "dumb blonde," a stripper, a Playboy Playmate, who boldly took her case against her billionaire husband's family all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. Her tragic life and untimely death evoke an odd mix of fascination, shock, and dismay. And through it all, there still exists a voracious thirst to discover more about who she actually was...and how she really died.

In a book that is sure to surprise even the most avid pop culture junkies, Rita Cosby blows the lid off this astounding story. After an in-depth investigation, this is the definitive journalistic account of the Anna Nicole Smith saga-with unearthed secrets and explosive, never-before-told information.

About the Author

An Emmy-award winning journalist, Rita Cosby hosted the top-rated show on MSNBC, "Rita Cosby: Live & Direct." She also hosted Fox New Channel's highly rated programs, "Fox News Live with Rita Cosby" and "The Big Story Weekend Edition with Rita Cosby." Some of her groundbreaking interviews include: an exclusive interview with Slobodan Milosevic while he was imprisoned at The Hague; an exclusive interview with Yasser Arafat when his compound was under siege; she was the first journalist to see the suspected terrorists held at Guantanamo and witness an actual interrogation; and a rare, private meeting with Pope John Paul II after receiving an exclusive letter from Timothy McVeigh explaining why he carried out the Oklahoma City bombing. Having interviewed more than a dozen world leaders and four US Presidents, she also made headlines for her interviews with Michael Jackson, David Berkowitz and Dr. Jack Kevorkian. She has been a featured guest on hundreds of television and radio shows worldwide and earned her two bachelors' degrees from the University of South Carolina.

4.0 out of 5 stars With access to the inner circle, Cosby reveals their machinations and double-crosses, January 21, 2008
Blonde Ambition is television journalist Rita Cosby's contribution to what is sure to be a genre of non-fiction about Anna Nicole Smith. Cosby was close to the Anna Nicole story, as a personal friend and confidante of Anna's mother Virgie Arthur, who invited the journalist to the funeral. Just eight months after Anna Nicole Smith's death, Blond Ambition was published (with 10% of the advances and royalties donated to the D.A.R.E. program).

Cosby pulls no punches in this slim volume, which is quick to point out inconsistencies and mysteries in the accounts of Anna Nicole's life and death. Her most shocking allegation is that lawyer/faux husband Howard K. Stern had a gay love affair with Larry Birkhead, the paparazzi ex0boyfriend who fathered baby Danniellyn, More immediately believable assertions are that Anna Nicole's doctors were irresponsible in the management of her prescriptions and that individuals in the Anna Nicole inner circle are money-obsessed. Everyone has lawyers/agents/handlers striking deals with the news outlets and the legal system, the majority of which are kept under wraps.

Rita Cosby concludes her exposé with a carefully researched timeline of the verifiable events in the 24-hour period preceding Anna Nicole's death. Ana Nicole was clearly manipulated by a sea of sharks in life, and the feeding frenzy continues after her death--for which one or more people in her inner circle may be responsible.

1.0 out of 5 stars Blonde ambition is tripe, October 6, 2007
By hmm (USA) - See all my reviews
How any one would want to read this book is beyon me. There is no investigation into who said what or why they said it.There was no attempt at trying to find out the truth in this book.Any books Ihave read (helen Rule)sources are given and investigated in the first party not from news bordcast and videos.Cosby was warned by several peopel that some of her sources were not reliable and she still did not check into anything to verify anything she has written.I would't even rate this book as 1 star and wonder why some reviews have been deleted from your site

1.0 out of 5 stars What's up with this?, October 6, 2007
The other day there were 46 reviews here. Now there's 4. Amazon, why have a review section at all if you're going to manipulate them like this. It's unfair to your customers to give a false positive impression of a very bad book. Shame on you. I guess you don't want to be stuck with boxes of the book.

My original review was deleted, so I will again offer my review for the third time. Overall, I think that Ms. Cosby failed to apply even the basic standards of investigative journalistic ethics.
-- Test the accuracy of information from all sources and exercise care to avoid inadvertent error. Deliberate distortion is never permissible.
-- Diligently seek out subjects of news stories to give them the opportunity to respond to allegations of wrongdoing.
-- Identify sources whenever feasible. The public is entitled to as much information as possible on sources' reliability.
-- Always question sources' motives before promising anonymity. Clarify conditions attached to any promise made in exchange for information. Keep promises.
-- Recognize that gathering and reporting information may cause harm or discomfort. Pursuit of the news is not a license for arrogance.
-- Recognize that private people have a greater right to control information about themselves than do public officials and others who seek power, influence or attention. Only an overriding public need can justify intrusion into anyone's privacy.
-- Show good taste. Avoid pandering to lurid curiosity.

Instead she relied on second and third hand information, transcripts from others' interviews, message board gossip, and information from disaffected former friends of Anna, fired employees, astranged family members, employees of Ms. Opri and Mr. O'Quinn, Ms. Opri and Anna's mother, Virgie.

The result is a concoction of unfounded, salacious accusations based on speculation and heresay.

I cannot recommend this book to anyone.
