The best collector's album,
By A Customer
This review is from: Der Blonde Engel (Audio CD)
If you will get the most and the best songs from 1928 to 1978 collected on 4 records - this is it. The 4 discs are named: Classical Album Tracks 1951-1964, Classic Album Tracks 1952-1965, Singles 1928-1949 and Rare Recordings 1929-1978. And rare recordings there is - for example: Friedrich Hollaenders "He Lied and I Listened", the german version of "The Boys in the Backroom", "My Baby Just Cares for Me" and a version with longer intro of "Just a Gigolo" from Dietrichs last picture with the same name (it's an shorter version on the LP). Totally there is 14 tracks previously unreleased and 3 songs for first time on CD. You also get an 20-page booklet with both german and english text. "Marlene Dietrich - der Blonde Engel" was released 2001 by EMI Electrola to celebrate that Dietrich was born 1901 in Berlin.

THE collection of Marlene Dietrich,

I have loads of cds of her, but this one almost has them all, and in the best soundquality.I do not have anything to add to the info of the editorial reviews, but if you want a boxset of her, go for this one. The other one of EMI which has 3 cds is also good, but this one is better, more complete. It hosts e.g. the painfully beautiful Just A gigolo, so enjoy! |
