The star of these three stories is "Big Blonde", which is an unforgetable tale of quiet despair. The other two stories are along for the ride.
If you enjoy reading Dorothy Parker give the fiction of Dawn Powell consideration. She doesn't toss off one liners like Parker but her depiction of New Yorkers in the 1940's and 50's is very compelling reading.
