Editorial Reviews

Filmed in 1999 at Town Hall in New York City, this show is Blondie's first hometown show in 17 years. The performance aired on VH-1. but this DVD restores an additional 45 minutes approximately. Bonus material includes music video, lyrics, photos, and web links. New York's disco-influenced art-punk rockers Blondie hit the stage at the Town Hall in New York City, for their first hometown gig in over 17 years. Originally broadcast as a forty-five minute VH1 special, LIVE IN NEW YORK is a fantastic audiovisual record of an awe-inspiring reunion concert, with singer (turned movie actress) Debbie Harry looking as striking and singing as sensually as usual.

No-Holds-Barred Blondie! December 29, 1999
By Greg
Format:DVD
I've always enjoyed Blondie's hits from the late 70s and early 80s, but never considered myself a fan until I had the pleasure of seeing them live this past summer on their No Exit tour. At an amazing 54 years of age, Deborah Harry won me over immediately with her enthusiasm, energy and her determination to win over any crowd fortunate enough to see her do what she does best...perform! I was ecstatic when I discovered the tour was released on DVD. Deborah Harry offers a unique gift in her performance that VERY few performers rarely, if ever, possess in their careers, and that is clearly evedient on this DVD.

FABULOUS! December 28, 1999
Format:DVD
Blondie's new concert dvd is simply fantastic fabulous. Debbie Harry's voice sounds stronger than ever, and this set includes most of her hits. The only one that was left out of the concert that I really missed was "The Tide Is High." I loved the version on the live cd and was looking forward to seeing the live video version. However, I highly recommend this cd to anyone who likes Blondie and anyone who likes any of the current divas in music!

a gem March 6, 2002
Format:DVD
I was mesmerized by her throughout the entire performance. The music was tight, the photography was concert-like, but the main attraction was, of course, Deborah Harry. She is a marval! She has the voice that can kill, or lull you to sleep at will. Her facial expressions rival bigscreen actresses in the ability to convey emotions, and she can dance! I loved watching her move, even though a bit subdued from younger days, the sensuallity and delivery of the songs was overpowering to me, actually brought me to tears. I loved this DVD, from start to finish and highly recommend it to anyone that loves to see music performed by a great rock band and sung buy a lovely rock (new wave?) diva with more soul than a bag-full of gospel choirs. Watch out Peggy Lee. Debbie is bad! Debbie is cool! Debbie can dance! Debbie is movin into the blues. Blondie is very alive and well, and I'm glad. Thankyouverymuch.
