Yet, that being said, volumes one and two of Blondie were a fun read and a bit of a glance back to the a bygone time of 80 years ago in the U.S.

This is a well made edition of the first original comic strips of Blondie and Dagwood. Though the subject matter is quite dated, the situations and topics can easily be related to modern times. It's a quality made book and worth every penny of the cost. Matter of fact, I would actually consider it UNDER-priced. It's a lot of good reading, especially for the Blondie fan, which I have been for more than 50 years. Volume one is equally valuable to any fan.

I bought this book for the intentions to give it to my mother as a mother's day present since she is a fan of Blondie and she loved to read there comic books from her childhood times. Here in Puerto Rico, Blondie was not know for that name, instead they where know as " Lorezon & Pepita", however there stories where never really fully release so this is a great means for my mother to see there full stories. (still need to find the first volume but this will do in the meantime)

This truly is a great book collection of the stories and adventures of Blondie and Dagwood together. in a short explanation, this book contains there times when they already got married and start the search of a new home and a job as well the birth of there first child and the inclusion of there pet dog Daisy as well some funny gags along the way in there adventures. The book itself is made of a hardcover, however the portrait is a separate paper that makes the cover, when you remove the paper cover, you only see this blue hardcover book with the title Blondie in it, its kinda pretty cool this little detail although not many people would get it. This is more to simulate it like in the old days when the cover of the books where more simple at the time and only had the title at the front with no pictures or design elements per say (pretty nice touch).

My mother enjoyed her present and learn things that she never knew about (example, Dagwood been a son of a rich family). she even had a good laugh from one of the comic strips because in that story it also happened to us with her grandkid (my nephew) when he was like 3 years old, let's say he started to drive backwards so let's leave it at that.

Overall, this is a great book that anyone can enjoy and i highly recommend it for everyone to read and share with your family and friends. Looking forward for the 3rd volume to come out on July.

Different, in many ways, from today's Blondie and Dagwood, but very enjoyable! I wasn't born when these strips were originally printed, but I can imagine my parents getting a good laugh from them!
