Book Description

I was tantalized by the mystery of her. The leech inside me came out to find prey, but found none in this enigmatic girl. The close proximity of her essence didn’t entice the monster within, so what did that make her? I had more questions than answers, but one thing was unmistakable; although she released me from her embrace, her hold on me remained.

Cruel circumstances turned Curry Brennan into the wretched monster he hates and refuses to accept, but when an expected turn of events releases him from the bond of his obsessive maker, he returns to the home he knew 161 years earlier and finds the return of happiness and joy in something he didn’t know existed. Puzzled by his growing attraction to Chansey Leclaire, a human, he is unable to resist the captivating relationship that threatens to reveal his existence as a vampire. He eventually discovers the reason he was destined to find what he didn’t know he searched for and is faced with the cruel realization that the living and the immortal undead will always be separated by one thing. Eternity.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Unique Take On Vampires December 29, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
From the moment of his creation, Curry Brennan has detested the fact that he was made into a vampire. A fact his maker, Marsala, has never cared to acknowledge. Spending every waking moment trying to devise his own demise, he knows it's only a matter of time before he succeeds in achieving that very goal.

Drawn to Mexico to experience the coming eclipse, he decides it's the perfect moment in which to release himself from Marsala's hold. Stepping into the light, he awaits a blissful death, never knowing that his life would change forever from that moment on. As he comes to realize that everything has changed, he's ecstatic to leave behind the wretched life he's lived.

Returning to his roots, he soon comes face to face with Chansey Leclaire, a woman who stirs his senses and makes him question everything he's ever known. Drawn to her in more ways than one, he allows himself to befriend the beautiful woman. Losing his heart to her, he vows to protect her to the best of his ability.

Dark forces begin to close in, intent on keeping the pair apart. Yet this is something Curry will not allow. The circumstances surrounding his beloved's existence soon become clear - Chansey possesses the Blood of Anteros, a gift bestowed to her from the Gods. A gift others seek to make their own through any means necessary, even if it means that others must be hurt in the process.

I truly enjoyed this book. It was definitely a unique take on how vampires live and the good versus bad aspects of their world. Georgia has created quite an intriguing story that draws the reader in from the very moment they begin reading the book. I look forward to reading the next part of the series soon.

3.0 out of 5 stars An interesting twist on a vampire tale. December 27, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This was an interesting twist on a vampire tale. Vampires who have a God chosen soul mate who will return that vampire's humanity while being the vampires biggest weakness. An awesome premise and to have this story introduced by a vampire who hates what he is was a perfect start to the Vampire Agape series.

Curry Brennan was turned against his will by a sadistic woman who wanted nothing more than to own him. Own him she did for 139 years until one fateful eclipse released Curry from their bond. Curry is an introverted man who has done his best to keep to himself for most of his existence. But when he finds himself renting an apartment from the family that now owns the home he built in Mississippi, he can't help but be drawn in by their Southern hospitality and their granddaughter, Chansey Leclaire. Curry knows nothing about agapes or their special meaning to a vampire when he fights the draw to Chansey, but he soon finds out that the will of the Gods is much more than any mere mortal or vampire can fight.

What makes this a great story is the fact that it's told in Curry's point of view. He's a man..err vampire, who truly hates what he is and that hatred has shaped who he is. While he claims to have accepted what he is, you can tell that he really hasn't and that makes his choices when it comes to Chansey heartbreaking.

I'm not very fond of the ending to this story as it leaves you hanging for the next book. It was kind of like being privy to a conversation and suddenly having the door slammed in your face. But I won't hold that against the book, because I did enjoy it and will cross my fingers that Georgia Cates has something wonderful in store for us in the next installment to this series that gives us the continuation of Curry and Chansey's story.

2.0 out of 5 stars great potential falls flat July 24, 2012
By Donna
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book has a potiential to be a welcomed twist in the world of vampire/romance novels and I am disappointed to write that it reads like a high schoolers first draft. There are many editing problems, including several paragraphs that appeared in the same color as the background on my kindle fire, requiring me to highlight them in order to read the text.

The characters are flat, there is very little "vampire" in the book, and overall it felt as though the author rushed to get it published. I would like to say that the author has a great imagination, I did love the story and it did hook me, but there is so much room for improvement that it seems like laziness on the authors part, and that of her editors and proofreaders.

More About the Author

I am a wife, mother of two daughters and a labor and delivery nurse. I have recently added Paranormal Romance Writer to my list of things to keep be busy, but I am ecstatic to release my debut novel, Blood of Anteros, the first book in The Vampire Agápe Series.

Like others that enjoy a great story of paranormal romance, I am easily bored by the tale of an obtainable, ordinary romance and was inspired to create The Vampire Agápe Series. When I am not tied up with my family or delivering babies, I am working feverishly on the second book in The Vampire Agápe Series.
