Blood, Brains and Bullets is Book One of the new Blood, Brains and Bullets series by Sean Liebling. It starts on Day One of the Outbreak and continues through the first seven full days after its apocalyptic climax.

Jay has started his daily routine as a single father of three, when the news hits of massive deaths— then reanimations—from the vaccine distributed by the government to combat the super-flu virus that has been sweeping the globe. For Jay, it's irritating because it interrupts his normal comedic attempts at nailing every sweet piece of ass in the area. Being a survivalist means he has a lot of 'stuff', as you can never have too much, and before he can even take shelter in his homemade retreat to ride out the apocalypse, friends start showing up who need his help. Before he knows it, he's forced into the unenviable position of assuming leadership over his community, or what's left of it, and fighting on multiple fronts against the forces of the evil undead, neighboring marauders, and assassins of a Shadow Government with a secret, 200-year-old New World Order Eugenics plan. Of course, that plan of theirs doesn't include him and his, so this Marine does what all Marines do best: He kicks ass without bothering to take names, and along the way he happens to fall into the clutches of a girl or three. Women can be very demanding. Even during a Zombie Apocalypse!

Jay is a dedicated self-styled player who gets lucky more often than not, and has a soft spot for children. As one of ‘those survivalists' they always talk about on the news, he's better prepared than most when the shit hits the fan. During the coming days and weeks, he will be forced through circumstances to grow up (reluctantly) and does his utmost to save his community from the forces of the secret Shadow Government, while melding close friends, survivors, and salvaged military units on the run into a force to be reckoned with! But it isn't over yet, because Jay is a Marine, and he has a few tricks up his sleeve which he fully intends to implement while accumulating as many girlfriends as possible.

This series will have you laughing hysterically at Jay's womanizing antics, then crying like a baby during scenes of heartrending tragedy and sacrifice. It will also make you cheer when and if the forces of good triumph over those of evil. Written with the help of a medical doctor and a doctor of psychology, along with survivalist friends of all stripes, the scenes you read inside are what would really happen in an endgame situation with a comedic spin to it.

This book is a testament to what good men can do when doing nothing simply isn't an option! The trick is to act quickly and decisively. Being a Marine also helps, of course!

About the Author

Biography *ATTENTION* I respond to all emails. Just hit my website up and send me one, or friend me on Face Book. Served twice in the USMC who incarcerated me in Beirut, Iraq, Panama, Somalia and a few other places until I was barely discharged for good behavior. Currently the owner of a few businesses that are actually making money in this economy and also a licensed firearms instructor, just to keep my hand in the game. I am also one of those evil Preppers and have all the stuff my characters have with the exception of an underground bunker. LOL. I am the bug in type and will stay and protect my community and the children, for they are our future. Do I expect anything to happen? Nope! But it costs me little to prepare, and it's actually fun. I am me! I have fun and I'm rarely serious. About this series I wrote and am writing. I have no illusions that I'll be the next Stephen King. I do it because I simply have to, and honestly I'm having fun while not taking myself too seriously. I've found I really enjoy writing, whether or not I have the skills necessary. Everything in my books actually works and my scenario's depict how it would probably be in any real life end game scenario, depending on a great many factors of course. This I know from my own experiences and those of my closest friends who number doctors and psychologists to name a few. I also know this because I'm a history nut and history definitely repeats itself with great frequency. I'm approachable so if you enjoyed my book and feel like dropping me a line go right ahead. I will respond to each and every one. I've met a great many of my fans now and all were a pleasure to talk to. I also love criticism. My feeling on that, is it helps me become a better writer. I can only improve, is my thinking. Take care and God Bless! Sean,

This was a great and fast read for me. I was a little taken back with main character and his women issues but in the end I forgot about it and loved it! The characters are amazing!

As everyone has commented on the sex in the book, I'll start with that. Years ago some of my girlfriends and I discussed terms for both the female and male genitalia that we find to be the most offensives. (There was a bit of alcohol involved) The number 1 word for both starts with the letter c. We also discussed how we felt about men over the age of 20 that knew and often mentioned the exact length of their penis. That said I feel that the author was portraying the protagonist of this book as exactly that guy, the one my friends & I talked about. When I started out in this book I was really annoyed & repulsed by Jay and the author. Then I gave myself a mental smack up side the head. I was being the idiot here, its a roll, or an acting part. Jay is one of those guys that everyone knows, that still wears his letterman jacket, talks about the big game, calls women chicks, babes, girls, tale, etc. He refers to sex as knocking off a piece, playing hide the salami, and all the other charming little terms that I, not being a card carrying member (literally) am not kept up on. Anyway, that's Jay, and he plays his roll to the hilt. (Literally)
The rest of the story & characters pretty much follow his lead. On the surface.... The true story lies a little deeper, for the people that get caught up on the editing, (that annoys me to no end, it is a review on the story, not the cover, editing, quality of paper or not for ebooks, but the story that you are supposed to review to aid others in the decision on whether to get the book.) I'm getting up too high on my soap box, sorry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Zombies, Babes, Guns, chaos...what's not to like? November 25, 2013

Great story by a new author. First of the series - it's a little rough around the edges, however the author smooths his style out in his second installment. If you like zombies, military action, loner hero types, or funky, eclectic story telling you need to check out Sean Liebling's books - a new author with a big future

Do you want to be a part of the character in the books you read? I do and Blood, Brains and Bullets gives you that. Not only is it a wild ride but you laugh and cry with the characters. That is what makes a great book, sharing the emotions with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny and entertaining July 27, 2013

I enjoyed this book. It was fun to read and I liked how it breaks from the traditional Zompocalypse books. I think this author gets way to much crap for his book. So here is my thoughts.

First of all this book contains graphic sexual encounters and lots of page space for breasts and what the hero thinks about them. I thought that was actually a rather entertaining twist on these genre of books. I always roll my eyes when another books protagonist risks his life to save a beautiful damsel in distress and then tells her "no thanks are needed". I loved that the main character would still save her but then try to get her into bed. Lets be honest here, that is the more realistic scenario. I personally took the sex stuff as risk/reward. Ok some of it was a little over done. I kind of lost count on how many of his girls he satisfies in one day, but I figure this guy is the zombie superhero so why not.

Secondly, come on with the grammar whining. Yes, the author made some grammar mistakes, left some words out, and could have hired someone to painstaking fix his books sentence structure before putting it on amazon. The real question is did it keep you from understanding the story. No it doesn't. Lot's of authors are putting out books that have this problem because they are putting their work out without the benefit of a multimillion dollar book deal. If you are really that hung up on spelling and grammar then stick to the brick and mortar books at the box stores. They are all professionally edited and market tested to appeal to the mass market. Enjoy the cookie cutter books that you pay 20 bucks for and clutter your house with.

If you are reading for pure enjoyment, then buy the book. It isn't your typical zombie apocalypse book.

This is actually my first book review even though I have read at least a couple of thousand Science Fiction books over the years, but I felt compelled to write one after my experience with Sean (the author).

To explain, after reading the book I emailed the author to ask to be put on his mailing list for the next in the series. He then asked for my opinion on his book and we started a long chain of emails going back and forth. My takeaway was that he is a very promising author, had a great vision for the series and most importantly he wants feedback and can grow from it.

I don't normally read zombie novels because they have very depressing story lines with people just barely surviving. This series has lots of death (come on it is called blood, brains and bullets) but it has a theme of hope for the future and having the remaining small percentage of humanity not just surviving but prospering. But don't worry, there are plenty of antagonists so the future isn't all rosy.

The main character Jay isn't your typical hero type and he thinks a lot with his other head but that doesn't mean that you don't grow to really appreciate him in all his strengths and weaknesses. I did point out to Sean that he needs to mature more over time and am led to understand that is in the works.

The writing style itself held my attention from start to finish. It is one of the longer books out there but like a good movie it never bogged down and there were very few grammer or typo issues in the version I read.

I look forward to reading the next in the series and I expect great things from this author. If you write a review on the book and have issues, then plainly explain, I know for sure that the author Sean will take them all to heart.

Good book overall. Needlessly sexually graphic. Seems like the author is living a personal fantasy throu his lead character. Otherwise this would be a 5 star rating.

All of my books are about HOPE! Yet not only hope but also about self-sacrifice for fellow man/woman/child and protection of the innocent. I believe in God, Country and Patriotism. I write a strong dose of 'punch in your gut' non-stop fighting action accompanied by a 100% intolerance for racism or hatred of alternate lifestyle living. By the same token I am fairly conservative in most other areas. Not an oxymoron, just common sense. I also write with realism as in how it may likely be. Many will disagree and I enjoy the discourse.
