Until reading this book I did not believe in pleading the blood of Jesus. I guess I thought to do so would be tantamont to engaging in a practice that was nothing short of evil. You are thought to fear the sight of blood as it represents likely death, black magic or doom.

I am so disappointed in the Kindle translation for this book. What could have been a wonderful and transforming book was reduced to unbelievable typo's and grammer mistakes which caused total havoc to the written language. I don't think it would have been worth it even if the book was free, which it almost was. To take the words of such a great author who is trying to...

Until reading this book I did not believe in pleading the blood of Jesus. I guess I thought to do so would be tantamont to engaging in a practice that was nothing short of evil. You are thought to fear the sight of blood as it represents likely death, black magic or doom.

Having read and having experienced an outpouring of the blood of Jesus in my life and that of my family I am indeed enlightened and empowered. Today I boldly claim the gifts, blessings and mercy that God has promised and have bestowed onto me. Today, I can claim my rightful inheritance as a child of the king of Kings.

The author does a wonderful job introducing the subject matter and in confirming its biblical autenticity from the Old Testement to the new Testement age. He removes the veils and misconceptions surrounding the practice and the need to plead the blood of Jesus on ourselves, our family, our possessions and even our vehicles and pets. This book is a "must have" for all believers in the Almighty GOD and the gift of deliverence and salvation through Christ.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Centrality of the Blood of Jesus, November 21, 2000
By
Christopher C. Alsruhe (Baltimore, Maryland United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
In a day when the blood of Jesus is being removed from the very translation of the Bible itself, when the mention of the blood of Jesus is considered offensive even in the churches, this book and Murray's other, "The Blood of the Cross," are God-sends for those who are willing to accept the ways of God without cringing. Though the blood of Jesus is not in any way magical, it is nonetheless crucial and foundational to receiving ANY benefit whatsoever from God. If one could list all the spiritual blessings in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus (Eph. 1:3), and then search out the sole reason why these benefits are available to born-again Christians, and only to born-again Christians, they would find that every single one without exception is only available because of the shed blood of Christ. Murray clearly shows this truth in his books and mentions over a hundred benefits (between the 2 books) that are only available by Jesus Christ's shed blood. If you want to get back to true biblical Christianity, you must get back to the centrality of the precious blood of Jesus. Otherwise, you have no source of heavenly, spiritual, benefits from God, inlcuding salvation itself. Hebrews says, "Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin." Murray shows clearly that within that statement is included ALL the resulting benefits of forgiveness, as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Milk has no blood -- but meat does!, November 22, 2004
By
This was the book the Lord led me to when I expressed a desire for complete surrender. The cleansing, the power, the sanctification -- God is showing me that everything I need for victory is in the Blood of Jesus.

If Christians would just learn about the power in the Blood, we would never look to anyone but Jesus Christ. We would have joy and victory even during trials and storms in life. We would never backslide as long as we meditate on God's law day and night and abide beneath the fountain of blood.

I am coming to believe that the blood of Jesus Christ is the most powerful, yet misunderstood resource God has given us. If I could just learn how to pray without ceasing and appropriate the power of the blood, I could truly do all things through Christ. Christians are weak because we substitute Sunday and Wednesday church services for intense daily prayer, fasting, travailing, and learning how to use Jesus' shed blood to enter into the holiest of holies.

Oh, the resources we willfully ignore! Get this book! Discipline yourself to surrender totally unto God and ask Christ to teach you the power inherent in His blood. This book is deep -- very deep and very true. In fact, it is a big, juicy T-bone steak. Can we properly digest it, or is meat too strong for our tummies? Too much milk weakens the stomach, I think.

Andrew Murray has written a tremendous discourse on the blood. He has done the Body of Christ a great service, and I thank God for the old-school preachers. People get grossed out when you talk about the blood. Nothing has changed in the last 2,000 years. The truth is, there's nothing gross about this -- it's meat, pure and simple.

Would be to God that Christians would grow up, get out of their theological playpens and denominational frameworks and learn about the blood and apply it their lives.

Enough pleading the blood; let's drink it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Every believer and church should have this book!!, November 8, 2003
By A Customer
I just happened to be browsing through a Christian bookstore & noticed the discount table of merchandise. Amidst the scores of large books with showy, attractive covers, I was attracted to this very small book with a very plain cover. Never had I heard of the author before. After glancing through this book, I purchased it and have been enlightened ever since. It's my next most important book next to the Holy Bible itself.

To my fellow believers in Christ, I say, "Powerful truths are published in small, plain covers."

This book gets you back to the basics of holiness of God and deliverance through the blood of Christ Jesus. Here the author covers the foundations of our faith and hope. When was the last time you heard a sermon or even a weekday bible study on the power of the blood of Jesus??

Think about it. Then purchase 3 or 4 copies of this book and mail/give it to your family, friends and yes, the pastor/teachers of your church. This is my first reading of this author's works but it won't be my last. Please buy, read and mail several copies of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you Want to Survive, You've Got to Read This Book!, September 17, 2003

This review is from: Blood of Christ, The (Paperback)
If you want to overcome and not just survive in these days of terrorism and pestilences, I highly recommend this book written by Andrew Murray.

People perish for lack of knowledge, but here is an author who gives the Christian believer some great insights about the awesome power that the Blood holds in the spiritual world. It paid for our salvation, restores us to God, helps us overcome sin, and protects us from the evil one. Revelation 12:11 says that they overcame the enemy by the Blood of the Lamb. Reading this book gave me a clearer understanding and the confidence to use the Blood of Jesus in every area of my life.

As a companion book, "The Blood and the Glory" by Billeye Brim is an excellent read. She shares insights that, together with Murray's book, will give you, the reader, a good foundation on the truth of the Blood of Jesus.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Bood whose reading defeats the enemy., March 17, 2006
In these days, many who hold authoritative positions in the various ministries in the church avoid discussion of the Blood of Jesus and the mighty name of Jesus. Little wonder the church is powerless today and many passionate Christians are opting out of the church experience.
Read this book. Make the blood of Jesus your foremost thought since that is what enables you entrance into the Kingdom of God. Interlace your conversation with the blood of Jesus. Tell men of the blood of Jesus. There is nothing more powerful and dreadful to the enemy. The Gospel, which neccesarily is based upon the blood of Jesus, spoken by you, with effectual fervent prayer, issues utter defeat to the enemy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strong Meat, December 27, 2006
By
This was the third Murray book I have been privileged to read, and won't be the last. As always, he skirts the shallow subjects plaguing modern Christian writings, and plunges into a deep, meaningful subject.

He discusses appropriating the blood by faith, and why the blood of our Lord is so powerful. One of the subjects which most impressed me was that of the effect the blood has on the diposition of a believer when he takes communion. It is powerful because it works in him the same self-giving nature which was in our Lord Himself.

A must read for believers hungry for the depths of Christ. Now however, I must forewarn you that this book will not entertain you. In fact, you may find the first three chapters to be slow, as I did. However, almost each chapter ends with tremendously powerful prayers and meditations of the subject just discussed.

Truly a magnificent work which will undoubtedly have powerful repercussions in your life. Read it twice!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Power of Jesus' Shed Blood!, October 6, 2003
Murray's book will help the reader gain a greater understanding of the significance of Jesus' shed blood for us.

Murray describes the following important points: we will operate in God's power only through faith, conditions for enjoying God's blessing, definition of sanctification, how the blood has opened the way for fellowship with God, and how we can have this privilege.

Read the book and be encouraged!

I can't say enough good about this book; it is literally the book I have been waiting and praying for, for a great number of years now. If you are at all lacking in faith, this book will turn it all around for you. The pastor who wrote this book (H.A. Maxwell Whyte, now deceased, the book out of print I was told)was Benny Hinn's pastor as a young man, and this book was one which was highly recommended by him on his TV show. You will not be dissapointed by this book if you are a believer of God and a follower of Jesus Christ.

I am so disappointed in the Kindle translation for this book. What could have been a wonderful and transforming book was reduced to unbelievable typo's and grammer mistakes which caused total havoc to the written language. I don't think it would have been worth it even if the book was free, which it almost was. To take the words of such a great author who is trying to explain the Power of the Blood of Jesus Christ and render those words unreadable is a sin in it's self. Why was this not proofed? Don't buy this edition
