4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent read, June 6, 2005

This review is from: Blood Cries (Hardcover)
Having read Mr. Weisman's SOAR, Jack in the Box, Rogue Warrior (with Richard Marcinko), and the Rogue Warrior novels (with Richard Marcinko)I was curious about his earlier writings. This book does not disappoint. It is a depiction of an American newswriter who is Jewish and it assigned to write stories in Israel for his news paper. The story offers a depiction of Israel that is unlike what we see in the newspapers or on TV. The central love story is well written. I really enjoyed this and will be sharing it with friends and family. If you're looking for some intrigue, you'll find it here. If you're looking for controversy, you'll find it here. If you're looking for a rich, beautiful story, you'll find it here. This is a great read. I was sorry that the story came to an end.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Well Written Novel of Israel, May 19, 2000
This review is from: Blood Cries (Hardcover)
Most people who know this author are familiar with his work on the great Rogue Warrior series. And his work with Richard Marchinko is awesome.

However, he wrote this book solo before the whole Rogue Warrior thing. The novel is a interesting and entertaining look at modern Israel and the issues of security and peace it shares with its neighbors.

I enjoyed the book very much and was very interested in its depiction of Israel. The author does some great stuff with the Rogue Warrior and I hope he does some more solo work too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blood Cries is an old book--1987- hard to find, June 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Blood Cries (Hardcover)
Jared Paul Gordon, magazine writer is not a good Jew. His girlfriend Ms.Adrian Cooper is a good Jew. She is teaching Jared how to be one.

Jared is caught up in Jewish terrorism. The Israeli military and intelligence communities are involved in a cover up. Jared is on their trail but they have the power to stop him. Will he live long enough to do it.

This book is full of sites, smells, history, love, death, murder & lies. Nothing is what it seems.

A real THRILLER.

John Weisman is one of my favorite authors.

I LOVED THIS BOOK. Please read it.
