Review

Praise for the Blood Coven Vampire Novels by Mari Mancusi:

“Dark, delicious, and full of surprises.” — Heather Brewer, New York Times bestselling author

“So worth reading…A great ride.” —Ellen Hopkins, New York Times bestselling author

“You’ll get bitten and love it.”—Rachel Caine, New York Times bestselling author

About the Author

Mari Mancusi used to wish she could become a vampire back in high school. But she ended up in another bloodsucking profession—journalism—instead. Today, she works as a freelance television producer and author of books for teens and adults. When not writing about creatures of the night, Mari enjoys traveling, cooking, Goth clubbing, watching cheesy horror movies, and her favorite guilty pleasure—video games. A graduate of Boston University and a two-time Emmy Award winner, she lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband Jacob, daughter Avalon, and their dog Mesquite.

More About the Author

Mari Mancusi always wanted a dragon as a pet. Unfortunately the fire insurance premiums proved a bit too large and her house a bit too small--so she chose to write about them instead. Today she works as an award-winning young adult author and freelance television producer, for which she has won two Emmys. When not writing about fanciful creatures of myth and legend, Mari enjoys goth clubbing, cosplay, watching cheesy (and scary) horror movies, and her favorite guilty pleasure--playing videogames. A graduate of Boston University, she lives in Austin, Texas with her husband Jacob, daughter Avalon, and their dog Mesquite.

This book isn't the best in the series. It was a good read. Maybe because the storyline wasn't as long or detailed. You didnt really get a feel for the relationships between the characters. I would recommend this book to people that want an interesting read, but it would be better if they read the other books in the series.

Oh my gods! I cannot believe this series is over! It's SO sad, especially since I absolutely loved it! It was such a fun series! And, as always, I loved the characters... Magnus and Sunny, Jareth and Rayne... I'm going to miss them! *sobs*

But, you know, this whole going back in time thing, I wasn't really loving. I just felt like everything they went through was for nothing! It did seem like there was no other way to fix the mess they were in... but I just didn't like the solution!

Also, the Epilogue felt a bit rushed to me. I wished we would've been "showed" what happened instead of told.

But besides those two things, I really enjoyed the book! It was action-packed and very heart wrenching! A fun series definitely worth reading!

Have you ever wanted to read one of your favorite books over again? Mari Mancusi gives fans of the Blood Coven series just that in Blood Forever. But is that all the Mari does? No! She gives us Zombies too!

I truly loved Blood Forever and feel like this series should get more hype that it does!

How did we end up here

Mari's pretty much sent me all of these Blood Coven novels except for maybe a couple. I just love them so because they're so snarky and they love The Lost Boys and they rip on Twilight and how could you not love them? I mean really . . .

Okay, book. You've got 50 pages. Go!

I've been hooked since the first book and I really do need to go back and read the one or two Sunny-POV books that I skipped over towards the beginning because, really, I didn't like Sunny when I started this series. Now? And especially in BLOOD FOREVER? Her teenager girly mall girl flame has been sufficiently snuffed out, she's so much more grounded, so much more intelligent and she's such an awesomer character than she used to be.

The first fifty pages were a snap to read because Mari has this succinct way of writing that just shoots you down the story's pipeline like a bullet. When you finally come up for air you're well past 100 pages and aren't sure what day it is. But here, Sunny's (and Rayne's) world has been rebooted in an attempt to circumvent their world from ending and everything going to hell (literally). So the story starts and you really can't help but wonder if you've read this before. I actually went back and checked to see if this was a middle book or something because I was a little confused. But it all evens out. I couldn't stop at 50 pages if I tried.

What worked . . .

From the vampires to the girls and even Bertha, everything was told with this Joss Whedon-esque style that'll have you thinking Buffy without even trying. It has the sass and the smarts and the snark all rolled up into one tightly controlled coffin that may be on the verge of exploding.
