Brianna Eaton is a woman born of magic. She is The Legend, a prophesy of a child born through magic to a Witch and Vampire that will be an inexhaustible Evil who will never die. When her father comes to her to warn her of the ramifications her sharing her blood with the child of her best friend, she is enraged. Does the man who raped her mother truly think she will believe anything that he has to say? But why does he look so hurt when she tells him of her distrust? And why does he insist that she needs protection?
Logan Vance has been a friend of Nathan Wellman for centuries. That is the only reason he agreed to look after Nathan's daughter when everything within him is clamoring for her death. The gall of the impure half breed is astounding! How dare she talk to Nathan, an Ancient One, with so much disrespect? But even with his hatred and fear of her Witch half, he still has a promise to keep to his friend: his promise to help awaken her Vampire side and help her survive.
A warning is passed down through centuries to Witches and Vampires both. Love between the races is forbidden, for a child from this union is said to become the scourge of the world. It will be a being with an insatiable lust for blood that is able to walk in the day. But this child born from love surely won't become so evil, or that is what her mother hopes. As long as her Vampire half remains dormant, there is no reason to worry about the prophesy.
Judith Gilbert has written an interesting mixed-blood story. Have you ever wondered what would happen if there was a half-breed Vampire who's other half was more than just human? Ms. Gilbert did, and the tale that she shares is one of blood, magic, and love. If you love Jeaniene Frost's Halfway to the Grave and Barb and J.C. Hendee's Dhampir series, then you will love Blood Hunt! Not only is there the adventure of discovering the Vampire side of her family, and herself, there are also the erotic scenes that are hot enough tantalize the senses and imagination. This is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed and sincerely hope that there will be a second book!
