This was a great debut novel and first book in the Bloodlines Series by Lyn Croft.
Vampyre’s, a Vampyre Queen, Werewolf’s, Halfling’s, and Half Breeds. They live among the human’s but a power struggle between them is beginning to emerge.

Cara, is a normal college student whose life is turned upside down when she becomes the pawn in Zillah, the vampire queen’s, quest to destroy God and take over his kingdom. Cara has no idea about her ancestry or about how she is the key between the two worlds. Eamon is a Halfling, and is in love with Cara. He will protect her at all cost, as the battle between good and evil heats up.

There are a lot of twists and turns and you will get sucked into the suspense. The author does a good job of explaining all the terminology and who’s on each side. I can’t wait for the story to continue!

As the title might give away this is a vampire novel. It is in fact a young adult vampire romance novel, the first in a forthcoming series. Don't worry, there is no sparkling, though there is a werewolf or two.

The book's main character is a girl named Cara. Cara is a college student with no family and few friends. She very quickly finds herself in a lot of danger and deeply in love with a mysterious stranger that's always right there when danger comes calling, to save her. He's from a family of vampire hunters, who have special powers and a few secrets of their own. Cara remains pretty ignorant to most of this through out the book and by book's end only knows the bare basics of this supernatural world she's been sucked into.

Though a romance story with a very mild sexual undertone at its core, this book contains a lot of religious elements. Much of it is very heavy with Christian sentiments. Almost nothing takes place in this book without one or more of the characters thanking, praying to, or otherwise mentioning God and this, to me, after awhile felt a bit overdone. Not really what one might expect from a small pressing calling itself Hellfire Publishing...but even so the storyline is compelling and the characters aren't overly "goodie-goodie".

My only real complaint about Blood and Lilies is that I wish more of the loose ends had been tied up. I don't feel like much was resolved by book's end and I didn't feel enough had been revealed to Cara. I want to see what her reaction is going to be to learning the whole truth about not only her new boyfriend and his family but herself as well. I wonder if it will be what the good guy's are hoping for, or if they have held back too much of the truth from her for her to continue to trust them. I suppose I will have to wait until the second book in this series to find out.

Oh my goodness!! I want to know what happens next! When does the next book come out?!

I could not put this book down! This book definitely kept me guessing, even the last page threw me for a loop - I did NOT see that coming. I highly recommend this book to those who like supernatural romance books. The romance was done in a very nice, subtle way - it was pure love and not just lust, which is so refreshing. I don't think I can say enough about this book.. you just have to get it and read it, you won't regret it, I promise!

I had to force myself to put this book down, such a great book. Can not wait for the next one. Great job, had me from the beginning. I could visually see each character felt like I was watching a movie not reading a book. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!

Being a fan of paranormal stories it's no surprise that I would read this book. and I'm happy I did. This is not your usual vamp read or Angel read. This co.bones several elements of the paranormal realms. The story hooks you with likable characters with super devious enemies and leads strongly into the next book in the series with an unexpected ending. Would I recommend this to my friends? Heck yeah. Get the book, you'll love it.

Wow! This is not what I was expecting... The story was so much more that what I expected. Lyn Croft delivers a powerful story in her debut novel! The words sentences flow from one to the next with ease and grace. I expected a typical vampire romance, the author took a different road in creating a unique and exciting story. I can't wait to read the next in this amazing series!!

I am a fan of vampyres and werewolves (and yes, I liked Twilight, more the books then the movies) so my hopes were high, and Ms. Croft did not disappoint me.

I was a liitle concerned with the beginning of this book as the author constructed some of the background for the main characters, but once that was done, the story took off and kept me captive way past my bedtime 4 nights in a row. And left me wanting for more.

I should clarify I am not a young reader but pushing the near side of sixty and mainly read sci-fi military and space exploration. However, this book has just the right blends of romance, intrique, action, gore, and science fiction with immortals and mystical powers to satisfy the needs of this reader.

The two main characters, Cara and Eamon, are not involved in the typical romance and must search themselves, and others, including some nasty immortals, to find thier way. Yet, there is no guarantee they will come together.

I look forward to the next book in this series and I will purchase it shortly after I post this review.

I look forward to many more books by Ms. Croft.
