About the Artist

Formed in 1994, this short-lived collaboration featuring Samoth (Emperor), Ihsahn (Emperor), Frost (Satyricon/1349) and Draug Aldrahn (Old Man's Child/Dodheimsgard)resulted in only one recording. Blood Must Be Shed was quickly recorded and nearly immediately sold out its initial pressing. For many the band was shrouded in controversy; the band's name selection causing much of a stir though from the get-go members clearly noted the band was not political or racially leaning. The band's line up also finding much curiousity for the time-line found it at the high of black metal's international rise and noted (and limited)crime-spree. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

This is a great black metal ep! Just ignore the lunatic who gave a review full of hatred and spite. Praising church bnurnings -what nonsense. Yes- a former member of Emperor killed a gay man- some co-horts burned down some very ancient Stav Churches in Norway- they have and are paying the price for doing so. And rightly so! If you like good black metal- check these guys out- just remember- to take thier way of life or ideas worth a grain of salt, and enjoy the music.
