Blood Rage is an exceptional book. Rhiannon is one of T.V. Olsens more colorful characters. Rhiannon's disfigurement adds much to the story. Olsen is my favorite western writer. He always comes up with interesting ideas and plots. Blood Rage is one of his best.

Rancher Alec Dragoman had Mike Rhiannons' two children kidnapped to force Rhiannon to find and return his daughter Melissa who had been kidnapped by Comanches. Rhiannon, through his wife, was related to the Comanches. Three others joined forces with Rhiannon who found that Melissa had been sold on to the Comancheros. There were slight similarities with certain plot lines of the western film `The Professionals', but only slight. The interactions between Rhiannon and his Comanche sister-in-law Zumah were a joy - Rhiannon continually having to rebuff Zumah's wild but amourous advances. And Comanchero captain Harry Trevelyan and Rhiannon had a number of witty, heavy drinking and worldly wise verbal jousts.
After the first two vague chapters where it was difficult to determine what was going on and where long passages were replete with a succession of short sentences this settled into an above average, well-written yarn.
