5.0 out of 5 stars Poems of Ireland and solstice, March 19, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Blood Rose (Paperback)
There are wonderful images in these poems, images of cold and light and winter. But my favorite of all was "Athena at Taffee's Bar". Here's a small quote: "I unfold like an eaglet from a white shell half its size. I let my war cry clatter the bottles on the shelf." Here's another quote from a Christmas poem: "The solstice moon rides within a ring of ice gleaming blue silver, blood silver, silver mist silver. The snow is blue; cobalt silver on the moon-struck mountain."
