An uncle appears Cal has never met before to rescue him from "the system." They form an alliance to pick up the pieces of his mother's life. Piece by piece, they come to realize that his mother's death was no accident. And now someone wants them all to leave Thunderbrook. Preferably feet first.

R. Scott Mackey holds a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Communications from California Universities, is a part-time college professor, and works in public relations in Sacramento, California. His first book, Barbary Baseball: The Pacific Coast League of the 1920's, was published in 1995. Married with two children, Scott lives in Sacramento where he enjoys reading, writing, teaching, and doting on his children.

A friend of mine referred me to this book. He said it was one of the best teen books he'd ever read. I have to agree that it is a book that you can't put down. Action action action. And the characters seem so real. I was sad when it ended. Read this book!
