If your a True Crime Fanatic: Blood Rush Is Mind Blowing!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Blood Rush (Mass Market Paperback)
Being an avid True Crime book reader, I can say Blood Rush kept me wide-eyed the whole time I read. Attention to detail was given with a lean towards sympathy for Green. I do believe though that his wife got away with murder!

I bought this book because I went to school with Ricky Lee Green. It was a big mistake. The book is evil and I couldn't wait to get it out of my Christian home. We burned it so no one else would be able to get their hands on it. Shame on you Patricia Springer for writing such a vile book. This story did NOT need to be retold. By the way, you had several facts incorrect.

Sharon worked with my mother and their group of friends always got together for events and to just hang out on weekends and holidays. As the kids, we often spent the night together and did extra curricular activities like skating bowling and going to the movies together. When I look back, I realize that we never went to Sarah's house, but she was always with us. Many times, one parent would keep all of the kids and allow the other parents time to themselves. To be completely honest, I always thought Sarah was spoiled as a child. She got alot of things like being allowed to go to Six Flags and movies in the middle of the week. Just weird things that my own mother would tell me I couldn't do on school days. However, Sharon was and is a very gentle, loving mother. I am willing to say that looking back, though she was terrified of this psycho man she was married to and kept her mouth shut about what was happening, I do believe that she sheltered Sarah and made sure that she was with friends and family often. I think that it is very possible that Sarah did not hear or see anything that happened. All of us felt weird around Ricky, but nothing ever made me think that Sarah was being abused. And for the record, Sharon is only guilty of being in a relationship with an abusive man that convinced her that if she did not help him that he would kill her. I think people need to give her credit for her moment of clarity when she was able to call the authorities despite her fear. I do believe that this book gives a fair depiction of Ricky's childhood and his strange family as I have been told by my own mother. However, Ricky Green was a monster. No one liked him and he made every person he came in contact with uncomfortable by simply being in the room. I find it very offensive to see that Sharon is the one who reported the issue and that she has never been in trouble since (and yes, our parents keep in touch) but people say she got away with something. That is like saying that a woman who was hit by her husband got away with making him mad. For the most part, the author has her facts straight, but lacks in capturing the individuals characters.

SOME OF THE STORY SEEMED UNBELIVEABLE. THE FACT THAT THE DAUGHTER, SARAH, NEVER HEARD "ANYTHING".-FIND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE. MR. GREEN AND SHARON ARE TWO VERY, VERY SICK PEOPLE. RICKY FATHER'S IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING TO.IT'S ALSMOST LIKE THE CHILDREN DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE SINCE THE DAY THEY WERE BORN!

When I wrote the first review I was not finished with the book yet...I do want to say that the author did a good job in writing the book but I think she tried to give a sympathic side to Ricky which its just to hard to do...The man is a serial Killer regardless of whatever childhood ( Hardship) background he had that doesnt give you a ticket to kill. I think its apalling that Sharon got away with the murders its clear throughout the book that we now have a murderess out there running free in society and that our legal system needs an overhaul because if we continue to allow these deals to go on where the the sharons of the world testify to get free of jail its pretty bad. I could not feel sorry for Ricky alot of the facts that were given to the author came from ricky so thats why i find it hard to believe that all he has said is true...I have no doubt he was abused as a child but the story is being told from a complete insane person ...No sympathy here... I do however hope that where ever sharon resides that she is being watched on a daily basis for the sake of her community...For all true crime readers the book is definetly a must read but you will come out just as baffled as i was...

By Marlene Meijer "CrazyDutchwoman" (The Netherlands) - See all my reviews

One of the best true crime books in my mind.
I really like the style of Miss Springer. lots of details. You will read how Ricky lee Green was raised. His abusing father, the relation he kept with that father even as an adult. How he met his coming wife Sharon, and how she became his partner in murdering. Having sex in somebody's blood!! A crazy couple.they killed for the thrill, sexual pleasure they got out of it. I could not lay this book aside. Its a shocking story very well written. Definitely one to buy!!

Awesome book!,

First of all I want to say that Patricia Springer is my favorite true crime author and I have read all of her books (which isn't many unfortunately) and I've been reading true crime for many years now and this book is the best I have ever read. I absolutely could not put it down no matter how hard I tried. My mother is reading at the moment but as soon as she gets done I will read it again. It's like an obsession I can't get rid of. I feel so sorry for Ricky Lee Green even though everything he said may be untrue. And it makes me so damn mad that his ex wife just got off with 10 years probation. Why should only he have to pay the price for something she had a hand in too? It's totally insane!!! But I do think that Patricia Springer did a great job on her very first book!

I found this book to be alittle over done...I do not believe That Ricky Greene suffered all those repulsive things as a child that he claims i believe he did suffer abuse from the hands of his father but I dont believe that he was sexually assaulted time and time again by different strange Men i believe he was a homosexual and seeked out this pleasure, I think its over dramatic and that Ricky Greene was just a major sicko!Lunatic.. I have read numerous true crime books (75 to be exact) and i certainly can tell a bogus story this appears to be one...I do believe Ricky did all those things I just think his background that the author writes about are just excuses for his horrific behavior
