Book Description

For readers of Christian fiction who are looking for something different, bestselling author Miriam Minger writing as M.C. Walker brings you edge-of-your-seat suspense in an inspirational thriller unlike any you've seen before . . .

Tragic real-life stories of mistaken identity have filled the news in recent years, a premise that fuels this chilling tale of an everyday woman forced to fight back against near insurmountable odds.

Unspeakable tragedy and cold-blooded murder conspire against Clare Carson in an ultimate test of faith when her six-year-old son is kidnapped after a heart transplant and his abductors want her dead. A dying cop’s last words lead her to Jake Wyatt, who helps her discover the horrific truth behind her son’s abduction and offers to help her get Tyler back. With nowhere else to turn, Clare entrusts her life to Jake not knowing he has a deadly agenda of his own that could destroy them both.

* Author's Note: Blood Son was originally created for the mainstream market, but was edited for the Christian market to give fans of inspirational novels an edge-of-your-seat reading experience with a message of faith at its core. If you would prefer the original "director's cut" mainstream version, Ripped Apart by Miriam Minger is now available on Kindle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Romantic Thriller March 8, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Blood Son by M.C. Walker, pen name of Miriam Minger, is the first in a series of romantic thrillers. Mostly thriller with a little romance, this book takes you on a journey through the battle of good and evil. Set along the Texas/Mexican border, the story revolves around Claire Carson, a mom who faces the abduction of her six year old son following his heart transplant surgery. With the help of Jake Wyatt, retired Military, she dives into the violent world of drug cartels in Mexico where she confronts the terrifying reality of her son's kidnapping. There are several subplots within the story which are well developed and add even more to the mystery and suspense of all the action.

This is a Christian novel which deals with gripping violence, dark vs light, without being preachy. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys heart stopping suspense with some twists and turns that are highly unexpected. The pages just zip by! A really, really great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book August 28, 2011

Wonderful Christian fiction, but not white washed or sugar coated. I will definitely read her other books. I am also glad that she chose to self-publish when one of the Christian publishing houses wanted her to tone the book down before they would publish it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced with little down time. March 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book had a good story line, surprising in the twists and turns. I especially liked that the heroine wasn't soft and fake. It seemed real the way she responded to the emotional impact and stood up for herself by not having to be rescued from ridiculous situations that she got herself involved in.. I liked the faith aspect of the story line too, and that it wasn't pushy and overwhelming.

Very well developed plot and great suspense. Would have liked the book even more had a closer relationship between circumstance and God been made, still a good read.

More About the Author

For readers of Christian fiction who are looking for something different, bestselling author Miriam Minger writing as M.C. Walker brings you edge-of-your-seat suspense in an inspirational thriller unlike any you've seen before...

"Several years ago when I submitted my suspense thriller Blood Son to a major publisher of Christian fiction, I was told the story was too violent for their audience. I was encouraged to make some changes, but I decided to stay true to my vision and not "sugarcoat" the experience of being a Christian in today's increasingly dangerous and violent world.

We all know that bad things happen to good people. We also know the war of good against evil is fought by Christians every day. I have waged that battle in my own life and have experienced firsthand those "black moments" when the war seemed almost lost. Every Christian faces those moments and so does Clare Carson, the heroine in Blood Son.

It is my sincere hope that this heart-pounding story of an ordinary woman thrust into extraordinary, life-threatening circumstances will touch readers and inspire them even in their darkest moments to trust God with all their hearts."
