When the body of a successful criminal barrister is found outside a chic Kensington hotel, it looks at first like a suicide. Frances Fyfield is a criminal lawyer, a trade she has used to huge success in many of her novels. She lives in London and in Deal, by the sea which is her passion. She has won several awards, including the CWA Silver Dagger and in 2008, the Duncan Lawrie Dagger.

Fyfield has done it again. She is the greatest legal procedural author, and her plotting is outstanding. Devilishly dark, but never unlikely.
