Book Description

Blood Storm is a category length Romance with Suspense elements. Contains some violence and sexual situations.

When Kate Merrill's father, a reclusive biochemist, accidentally drowns, she's grief stricken. They'd barely spoken in the past year and now there's no chance to tell her only parent how much she loved him. Shortly after his funeral, a strange package arrives with her father's handwritten note asking Kate to deliver it to his associate in Atlanta. She considers the journey an opportunity for redemption and vows to fulfill her father's last wishes. Little does she realize the locked metal box contains a formula to combat the effects of an impending bioterroism attack and the "associate" is actually a scientist at the Center for Disease Control.

Ex-cop Sam Holden escaped a tainted past and painful memories to work as a Wilderness First Responder in the rugged Sierra Nevada mountains. He enjoys the solitude and doesn't mind long, isolated winters dotted with the occasional rescue of a stranded winter sports enthusiast. But his cop instincts flare to the front when he witnesses an attack on a small aircraft by a helicopter gunship.Rushing to the scene on his snowmobile in the wake of a sudden blizzard, he finds Kate injured but still breathing and transports her to his primitive cabin until he can arrange for an airlift.

Sam and Kate are instantly drawn to each other.Waiting out the cold, raging blizzard is nothing compared to controlling the searing desire blazing inside the small cabin.

When Sam breaks opens the mysterious package against Kate's wishes, he realizes his peaceful mountain top is about to become a hotbed of danger. Torn between the attraction he feels for his patient and the need to thrust her from his life, Sam reluctantly agrees to take Kate to the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta.

The couple begins a cross country race to reach the CDC with the terrorists right behind them. Kate is blinded by the growing love she feels for Sam and vows not to lose him like she did her father. Her actions become rash and erratic, thrusting both of them into a life threatening danger. But Kate's greatest fear is not dying at the hands of the terrorists - it's losing her heart to a man who has forgotten how to love.

1.0 out of 5 stars Blood Storm - fizzled February 7, 2012

The Product Description is the best part of this story. I wish I had saved the time and not read the book.

The heroine is TSTL (too stupid to live), she continually contacts the people who are trying to kill them when they go on the run.

The hero is damaged and insecure, not a good sign in a hero. The heroine has some kind of junior high school crush on the damaged hero and she shamelessly chases him throughout the entire book, even though he makes it clear several times he is not interested. He finally comes around but by the time he does, it seems insincere.

So insincere that when the hero and heroine think they might be executed soon, all they want to do is make out.

I would think survival would be their highest priority, making out could happen after they have made some effort to insure that they will be alive.

My main problem with this story is that the heroine acts so childish and chases the hero so shamelessly. The premise for the story was very good. I really dislike the phrase this author keeps using about putrid saliva forming in the heroine's mouth. That's disgusting to me personally. I hated reading that.

My secondary problem with this story is that the only reason I see for the attraction between the two is sexual. There has to be more than that. Sorry, I wish I had passed on this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Bloodstorm" is a must-read! March 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Deb Sanders mixes romance and intrigue like no other.

Kate and Sam go on a believable mission-to stop bio-terrorism- risking everything to do the right thing. Kate's father's work, as a scientist, has resulted in his death and possibly Kate's and threatens even innocent Sam's life.

This book is riveting and you will not be able to put it down. Like I said, it is a realistic situation and a MUST READ!

5.0 out of 5 stars Evil Comes To Life December 8, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The author has brought to life one of the best villians I've ever read (and let's be honest, villians are why we read thrillers). Bloodstorm, has an intricate plot woven around bioterrorism, that will keep you up at night wondering, what was in that bag the good looking man at the mall was carrying? This book is a must read.

More About the Author

Deb Sanders has always been an adventurer, gathering memories that would one day serve as inspiration for her storytelling. She's travelled through 39 states, lived in 8, and added the rest to her bucket list. Weaving paranormal and suspense tales comes naturally for a person who falls in and out of adventures as often as the rain comes to a high plain meadow. She's as comfortable chasing tornadoes as she is ghosts. A self-professed optimist, Deb says she puts the "fun" in dysfunctional.

You can read about her latest escapades at http://DebSanders.wordpress.com, where she blogs about writing, life, and the occasional soapbox rant. When not writing, Deb shares her life in North Carolina with an old dog (her husband), a young dog (her Golden Retriever) and two rescue cats who like to nap on her keyboard - while she's trying to write, of course!
