I received my book in the mail today and was so excited to look at it! So disappointed it doesn't have Carb values at the end of every recipe. Are you kidding me? You tout this as a book for Diabetics as well as folks without. Being a Type I Diabetic, I don't usually make recipes unless I know the carb value as that is how we TI's do our carb/Insulin ratios for each meal....Wow, Michael Moore REALLY missed the mark! I'm returning it!!!!!! PRONTO! I'm seriously in shock right now.......Beautiful book, but not at all useful to me!Blood Sugar: Inspiring Recipes for anyone facing the Challenge of Diabetes and maintaining good health

Finally, we have someone with the skills of cooking food at professional level who has designed menus that every restaurant should be looking at seriously. The number of Diabetics on the planet is increasing every day. All we want, as Diabetics, is to be able to walk into a restaurant like everyone else and be able to order something that we are told the GI level of instead of having to calculate the arrange appropriate insulin levels.

My wish is that every restaurant purchase a copy of this and USE IT. How amazing would it be to have a column on the menu that tells me the GI rating of a dish? Wow!!

Spread the word not the butter.

As i said in heading, great recipes in a great book. But there is a fault - well it is one for me. I am sure others will feel the same though - no calories/kilojule count - would have expected some info regarding the nutrition/counts on each recipe. Whether it be Energy, Fat, Calcium etc. If this was noted on each recipe, I and others, would feel more comfortable - and I would regard the book as perfect, ie deserving of 5 Stars!

I have come to know Michael's cooking because I went to his restaurant for my birthday last year. The lunch was surprisingly delicious and healthy at the same time and mind you I run away at the sounds of 'healthy' food. Really simple cooking ideas and he gives plenty of information on which food drives your body further. Fantastic even for the non-diabetics!

as a diabetic, I was hoping that Michael Moore understood about GI and which foods were best. A number of mistakes regarding this are in the book and as such it was a disappointment to me.
