Truly Excellent!,

So often reviews do not live up to their rating. Blood Tears is truly excellent! Events take place in Europe during WWII and just prior. The action flows from Eastern European mountain ranges to England, to the heart of the Nazi war machine. Superstition, prejudice, obsession, love, honor, loyalty, the tragedy and horrors of the war itself. Psychics, dark kind (vampires), empaths, do these beings really exist? Are there humans with paranormal abilities? In Raven Dane's alternate reality there are. Read and enjoy!

Wonderful book. Finally a vampire book with a better plot than just romance. The WWII timeframe was great and gave the book a much different feel than most vampire books. I couldn't put it down and lost a few hours of sleep each night until I finished it. I can't wait to read more of this author's books. The last page gave me hope for a sequel.

I loved this book. It is a different kind of Vampire story.
The time and places and descriptions are wonderful. You feel you are experiencing them as you read. The character and courage of each individual keeps you captivated till the end. I can't wait for the next book.

Original and captivating,
This review is from: Blood Tears (Legacy of the Dark Kind) (Kindle Edition)
You have to give this author 5 stars for originality. I'm a die hard vampire genre fan - but this one definitely put fresh teeth into the necks of the readers. The pace was excellent, the men broody and delectable, the fact that they don't feed on women was a surprise (maybe I've been watching too much True Blood?) The Dark Kind are my kind - loved them!
This is more than a vampire story, it's a thriller with a bit of humour and politics thrown in. Gripping and highly recommended

Am I normal? I've fallen for a vampire!,
By
This review is from: Blood Tears (Paperback)
This book is so different to the normal (yawn) vampire stories, you know, garlic and crucifix.... these vampires - or Dark Kind - to give their real name - are so believable! They kill to survive, but then so does a tiger or a cat or a wolf .... and they have a code of honour and ... oh Azrar is wonderful and Jazriel... what can I say??? Swoon.....!
I can't believe this story was made up. I totally believe vamps really did help us humans in the war! Is there going to be another novel about the Dark Kind? The author says yes. Oh good!!!!!!!

It's a rich and unforgettable tale of dazzling scenes and vivid personalities. I have read many Vampire stories, never thought I'd be this surprised...

My journey to the Land of Secrets and Shadows,
By Snowangel (UK) - See all my reviews

I couldnt wait for my copy to arrive from Amazon USA, I borrowed a copy. Its a wonderful book, like watching a vivid Hollywood blockbuster. Expertly crafted with brilliant characters, Ms Dane has taken all the well-worn Goth cliches such as gloomy castles and wolf-ridden forests and given them fresh new vibrancy with her real passion for the genre. One of the blurbs calls Blood Tears; 'Sexy, subversive and beautifully written.' Says it all! Looking forward to my own copy to arrive and the promised sequels. And the other reviewer is right, Jazriel is gorgeous!!

THE MOST BORING AND SOULLESS BOOK EVER WRITTEN,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Blood Tears (Legacy of the Dark Kind, Book 1) (Paperback)
This book grabs you at the first chapter. so you think oh this is going to be good. then chapter 2 comes and it steadily declines through out the entrire thing. the relationship in the story arent believable and show hardly any emotion. this is true even with relationships that consist of just friends as well. its slow and doesnt pick up 3/4 through the book and I became flusterated. in the end i threw the book across the room and could not continue. the main characters dont have any dept and it seems to me that they spend most of thier time wining. I always look and the book reviews before I buy a new book unless its a new release cause there wont be any reviews. reading these reviews I wondered why there was only a few (and each one except one said it was excellent) for a book published years ago. once the book came I was looking forward to it and started reading with in minutes of opening the box. like i said the first chapter makes you think its going to be excellent. NOT TRUE. FOR THE PRICE THAT I AND EVERYONE ELSE PAID FOR THIS BOOK IT IS DISAPPOINTING
I usually dont mind the dark in books but this made me want to throw up. Not because it was vulgor or anything but I wondered how someone could write and ramble on for 600 + pages and nothing terribly important happen. Well DONOT recommend this book even to most boring and plain individual and would not even gift it to my worst enemy. as a matter of a fact it this throwing it in the trash is a waste of effort. if you like some back bone and an interesting read stay away from this book it will put you to sleep.

Too complicated,
This review is from: Blood Tears (Legacy of the Dark Kind, Book 1) (Paperback)
Overall this book is not that bad, but too complicated when you read on, too many characters and not what I have expected from a vampire fiction. I haven't finished reading it yet, so I cannot comment too much. But unfortunately I get bored and I don't have the thirst to read on. It doesn't appeal to me in a way that I have hoped it would like other vampire fictions. Even though I still believe different readers have different tastes, so you might like it who knows.
