5.0 out of 5 stars Finally the truth about the Arkansas prison plasma program!
My introduction to this book came via an episode of CBN Now. I could not believe that people in Canada and around the world were dying because they had received tainted blood from several prisons in Arkansas during the 1980s. The news-story was very disturbing, and it certainly gave a new meaning to the term -- "Blood Money". I immediately went out and...

1.0 out of 5 stars An inventive novel
An imaginative work of fiction--guaranteed to cater to the tastes of Usenet conspiracy buffs and the politically dispossessed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally the truth about the Arkansas prison plasma program!, March 5, 2000

This review is from: Blood Trail (Hardcover)
My introduction to this book came via an episode of CBN Now. I could not believe that people in Canada and around the world were dying because they had received tainted blood from several prisons in Arkansas during the 1980s. The news-story was very disturbing, and it certainly gave a new meaning to the term -- "Blood Money". I immediately went out and bought Michael Sullivan's, 'Blood Trail' to know more about the blood scandal. 'Blood Trail' is a cleverly written fast paced "novel" (the author had to adopt this format so as to prevent reprisal from befalling himself or his family) that has many kernels of fact within its 320 pages. Names, characters and places may have been altered, but if you read closely you will recognize them.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT BOOK, October 15, 1999

This review is from: Blood Trail (Hardcover)
Although the book is written as fiction, once you read it you will know that this is real and did happen. Especially if you know about Arkansas politics and the way it works here in the south.

5.0 out of 5 stars A HEART STOPPER!, April 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Blood Trail (Hardcover)
"Blood Trail" really hits home for some of us who know victims of Canada's worst health crisis this century. I hope the RCMP has a copy of the book and is indeed following the Blood Trail where ever it may lead -- even if that means the White House. 10 years of Canadian Red Cross records shredded and now this! Nobody's buying the 1986 cutoff date for compensation for the tainted blood victims and now this EXPOLSIVE THRILLER proves it. A must buy. You won't put this book down.

4.0 out of 5 stars A red hot political thriller with a dose of reality, August 26, 2000
This review is from: Blood Trail (Hardcover)
While I am not normally a big fan of fiction, the fact that this novel is based on a political scandal that is still largly buried in the US media intrigued me (for the truth about "Blood Trail, search Canadian media web sites or worldnetdaily) As a political/medical thriller, it is above par. The writting is a bit pedestrian and the characters, with the exception of the lead character David Farr, lack depth. However the book takes you on a wild roller coaster ride filled with suprising plot twists and excitment.David Farr is out to get those who, by knowingly let tainted blood be shipped for medical use, infected his son with the aids virus. Along the way he must breakthrough a vast cover up while trying to outwit the pursuing "dixie mafia" intent on keeping the story buried by any means nessacary. The fact that this novel is loosely (very loosely) based on actual events makes it all the more frighting. Still more frighting are the attacks, threats and harrasment the author recieved after this book was published, even though it was written with a pseudonym.Definitly worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars A compelling read, April 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Blood Trail (Hardcover)
This is a compelling read that is thinly disguised fiction based largely on the Arkansas prison blood scandal of the 1980s. But the story is powerfully current in its exposure of the greed of an industry which relies on blood for its profit. Very readable with engaging characters drawn by a courageous author. 5.0 out of 5 stars HOLLY MOLLY! I COULDN'T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN., October 3, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Blood Trail (Hardcover)
This is defintely a one-sitting read. Look out Grisham ... look out Clancy -- here comes Sullivan.

Imagine a "Primary Colors" with an honest and exciting plot which hooks the reader and surges forward with unexpected twists and an even more unpredicted ending.

Imagine a simple scandal initiated in the 1980's by a governor from Arkansas. A scandal covered by his closest associates and protected by a special detail of men with powers beyond those of the CIA. A scandal resulting in the deaths of thousands of innocent Canadians and Americans by 1996. A scandal successfully hidden until now.

Imagine a story with identifiable characters whom Kenneth Starr hasn't even subpoenaed... Yet.

THIS IS MORE THAN JUST A FICTIONAL ACCOUNT. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. READ FOR YOURSELF.

This is scary stuff....I found myself glancing over my shoulder as I read! Fact-based & well told, the author has used only the necessary details to move the reader quickly through the complexities, leaving plenty to the imagination. Stunning conclusion. Why hasn't there been more attention for this story?

5.0 out of 5 stars Reads like non-fiction Grisham., October 7, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Blood Trail (Hardcover)
Blood Trail is a shocking thriller that brings to life a story that was once only a South Arkansas rumor. The idea of making money on the blood of imprisoned men makes other tales tame by comparison. Only after a full scale investigation is launched will we know the real conclusion to Blood Trail.

5.0 out of 5 stars Horrifying, sad, and...plausible, October 4, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Blood Trail (Hardcover)
I heard an interview on CBC (Canada's public network)with the author. I had heard rumors that the RCMP had been thwarted in their investigation of the tainted blood charges. I have lost two friends due to the bad blood. I am a Canadian and if there is a scintilla of truth in this story, I wonder if we "quiet neighbours to the north" will sit still for this massacre. For those of you that have read this blockbuster and have access to the WWW, see if you can download the url the author mentions on the last page. Considering the book was published Sept. 1/98 and the website has been deleted, it gets very suspicious.
