Book Description

October 2000

“We share the same blood . . . and the same evil desires.”

Selena D’Agostino needed a vacation. So when she received a mysterious invitation from England to meet long-lost relations at their family castle, it seemed just the ticket.

But nothing could have prepared her for what she would find there. Not only were her newfound relatives not what they seemed . . . it soon became clear that they were not about to let her leave.

And perhaps the most frightening of all was her overwhelming attraction to the seductive, engimatic Kieran Ramsey, who bore an eerie resemblance to a 400-year-old portrait that hung in the castle . . . a man of dark secrets, with an insatiable thirst for blood and a lust for Selena’s soul that would not be denied.

Review

"...a spine-tingling novel full of chills, betrayals and dark secrets...Dimitra's novel will serve you well." -- Darlene Jolly, The Huntsville Times, January 14, 2001

THE BLOOD WALTZ is a good horror-cum-gothic type romance, with the story taking some unexpected twists. -- Romantic Times Magazine, October 2001

This book is perfect for the Halloween season. Both "heroes" are deliciously sexy, yet menacing and creepy. -- The Romance Readers Connection, November 11, 2001

About the Author

Ria Dimitra, a native of Huntsville, Alabama, became entranced by vampires after her high school drama class took in a production of "Dracula" at a drama convention.

Eschewing the Hollywood vision of the Undead, she turned to the Gothic tales of the 19th century and ancient European legend to conjure up a tale of romantic horror with a modern sensibility. Ms. Dimitra has spent most of her life in Huntsville, although she has also lived in St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Nashville. A solo trip to England provided further inspiration for "The Blood Waltz." She now resides in north Alabama with her son and three cats (Rufus, Josh, and Morticia), where she listens to Bach and Beethoven, practices her fencing skills, and writes into the wee hours of the morning.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Of The BEST Vampire Romances I Have Ever Read!!!!!, March 4, 2002

I happened to look through my books and saw one that I had bought a while ago and had put aside for some crazy reason.

The Blood Waltz by Ria Dimitra is INCREDIBLE! I read it in one afternoon and could not put it down. :)

Selena D'Agostino writes teenage novels. She is burned out and desperately needs a vacation. Ironically, a mysterious letter arrives from England. Relatives that she has never known, invite her to come to their family castle. This is simply too good of an opportunity to pass up and she goes off to England completely unaware that her life is about to change for all time!

Once she arrives, she soon realizes that her relatives are not what they seem to be. They harbor a terrifying secret and will not let her leave the castle.

Despite her increasing fear she is drawn with an alarming degree of fascination to Kieran Ramsey. He is lean, dark and so seductive. He lures her using her own powerful desires. Yet, Kieran is a man of secrets and deep longings that will not be denied. And once unleashed, they could prove fatal to Selena's soul!

I devoured this book like a box of chocolates!! <G> The sensual tension between Selena and Kieran kept me rivetted in the chair until I had finished the entire book.

Kieran was the type of hero I love to read about. He was incredibly handsome, powerful and his sinful beauty drew Selena inspite of her growing fear. She could not resist Kieran's sensual allure and neither could I! What an alpha male! <G>

This is the one book that should NOT be passed up! Run to your local bookstore and allow Kieran's insatiable hunger for Selena to enrapture you!

I eagerly await more books from this incredible author! Highly recommended!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Novel that is as Alluring as it is Haunting ..., March 14, 2001

Ria Dimitra has created a haunting Gothic romance that pulls you into her protagonist's dilemma. What starts out as a simple vacation for Selena quickly evolves into a romantic nightmare (often literally) that pulls her soul in many directions at once as she contemplates the bizarre nature of her distant relatives in England. Mystery and foreshadowing are handled adeptly and keep the reader involved. Ms. Dimitra's treatments of Gothic and vampire themes are fresh and alluring, not to mention unsettling. You would be remiss not to read this book.

I just finished this and I loved it. I was drawn into the story right away and did not put it down until I finished it. It had interesting twists and turns and I especially liked the surprise at the end. I hope Ms. Dimitra will continue with more stories like this one.
