When Morgan finds her birth mother's Book of Shadows she finds herself even more obnsessed with finding out more about her. But she dosen't have time for that. SHe also has to deal with her budding relationship with Cal. The fact that a close friend may leave the coven, and two new mysterious witches in town. They're names are Hunter and Sky. Morgan knows she can't trust Hunter from the moment she first saw him. Everything about her makes her stomache turn. But when he tells her things that surprise and hurt her she dosen't know what to do, or who to trust....

This book was just as suspenceful as the first two but with a touch of mystery that's new and refresing. I'm sure to read the next book in the series, Dark Magick, when it comes out. If your a fan of the 1st two books you won't be dissapointed

Morgan is different than who she thought she was. She use to think she was the most ordinary thing in the world--that is, until Cal came. He's taught her who she really is, helped her discover it. And Morgan is a blood witch; the last descendent of Belwicket, one of the strongest groups of Woodbanes that have denounced the dark. Her mother was the daughter of the high priestess. Morgan's adopted, and she's only recently discovered that. Her birth mother and father, Maeve and Angus, suffered horribly after Belwicket was destroyed by darkness. Now the dark is after Morgan, and maybe not in the way she thinks. Hunter and Sky are cousins, and Hunter is working for the Council, and claims that Cal is Woodbane... one that hasnt denounced the dark. He claims that Cal is using her, and, of course, she doesnt believe him. Bree and Morgan are no lone best friends, and things happen between them.

I can't really explain all the things that happen in the book... cause theres a lot. Thats just the important stuff. *grin*

Morgan is still trying to piece her life together. Bree has deserted her and her adoptive family can't even begin to understand her. The only person she seems to trust and have on her side is Cal. Cal her wonderful boyfriend who believes they are murin breatha dans, soulmates. But then Hunter comes and shakes things up. He claims that he is Cal's half brother and a member of the International Council of Witches. He says that he has been sent to investigate Cal and Selene who are believed to be practicing dark magick. Morgan denies this and refuses to believe him. But she does feel that something dark and strange is going on and if she doesn't figure things out soon she could face hte same tragic death her parents did.

At sixteen, Morgan's life was shattered by a revelation that left her struggling to pick up the pieces of her life. She had made the discovery of her life - that she had been adopted as a baby, and that her birth identity was as a witch and a member of the Irish clan Belwicket. Now her best friend, Bree, has abandoned her, the adoptive family she loves can't understand and accept her powers, and what's more, she senses danger surrounding her. The only thing that seems right in her life is Cal - her soul mate, the one she loves and wants to be with for the rest of her life. But Hunter, who claims to be Cal's half-brother, appears with shocking accusations. He claims that Cal is practicing dark magick and that he is using Morgan so that he can have access to her powers. Morgan refuses to believe Hunter, but she knows that something isn't right - and if she doesn't discover once, she might meet the same tragic end as her birth parents. This book was a thrilling continuation of the Sweep series. I reccomend it to all readers who enjoyed the first two books.

Morgan's seventeenth birthday is approaching and she should be very happy. But the rest of her life is not a wonderful as it should be. Cal is great, and her anchor. But now she has learned more about her mother and her clan. Her coven is losing some members and might be losing more. Bree is still distant and is mixed up with a strange witch. Who are the strange witches and what do they have against Morgan and Cal?

Most of these questions are answered by the end of the book which culminates on the night before her birthday.

Another fine book about a girl coming to terms with the changes in her life (adoption, love, witchcraft, friends, etc.).

First of all, I'm not one crazy for preteen occult novels. There tends to be this obnoxious self-righteous flavor of magic blended with preachy supertones. Not to mention half the time there's this exaggerated teenagerness.

Well one day, while sitting in the backroom of the library in school, I caught glimpse of the title. I opened it, quite surprised it actually had a positive view of Wicca and it wasn't blocked by our school .... The teenagers in this book are actually all quite smart! There's only a few occasions where there's the "Hello Mom I am like so 17 years old" type of conversation. And with cheesy, unrealistic magic, there's only the part where the girl is stirring her soup counter-clockwise to make it cooler, and says "its so great to be a witch".

Knowing myself and my lack of attention with fiction reading, I was quite surprised I actually didn't lose attention and kept reading. The plot is good, and there's not too many things immature self-proclaimed nit-picky witches could see as questionable, other than the international society of witches, which is obviously created to enhance the story. There were no antagonistic views of Christianity like in The Mists of Avalon where every word that comes out of the mouth of Christian Priests are "devil this... and demon that..." And once in the book, there pops up an aunt with a lesbian lover, and there's no concern or issues from any of the characters or any attention drawn. Very good with demonstrating acceptance and the like throughout the book. And not to mention so much less depressing than the Mists of Avalon, and more fairness to males.

I'm looking forward to reading sweep 2 when it's not being checked out.

This was a great book. It talks about Morgans life in wicca. In this book she gets to know more about some people like Sky and Hunter. She finds out why people say Your best Friend can be your worst enemy And has to make some choices on truth. Morgan Finds out she is woodbane which is startling and sees the darker side of her ex-friend Bree. She finds out a lot more about her past, and has to make a choice on who to believe the one who says he is her "muirn beatha dan" or his Brother. This book has an enticing ending that leaves you extremely curious and agitated if you dont have the next book on hand. I know from experiance!

Morgan has been learning about Wicca ever since she met Cal.(her b/f)In this book, she is told by Hunter that Cal is using her for her power. Should she stick with her boyfriend or belive Hunter? This has been the best out of the three great books that Cate Tiernan has written. I look forward to the next in this series...

I purchased the Sweep series for my 13 year old daughter in the hopes that maybe she would read. "She hated to read." Well I was amazed, and could not get her to go to sleep, as she would spend the whole night, with a night-light on reading these books. She enjoyed them so much, and could not stop talking first about Cal and then Hunter, that I had to see what all the fuss was about.
Well after two weeks, a book a day, for a girl who hated to read, it sparked my curiosity, so I started reading, and was surprised to find out how enjoyable a Teen book about Teen Witches could be. I am not really into Wicca, but these books are really enjoyable. I am on my fifth book, and my daughter read each twice, and is know on the Circle of Three Series. I have to highly recommend these books to those parents who can not get their daughters to read. These are excellent stories, full of fantasy, horror, and fun.

This one is also good...just like the other ones. Morgan is still trying to understand her powers, but doing well when she has Cal with her. But, something strange is happening that is making Morgan scared. What could it be? You will have to read and find out, just typing this review temps me to read it again. GO get this book, you wont regret it.
